Printing to a network printer
Hi guys, I have a Brother HL-L2360D laser printer it has wifi and is connected to my router, I was hoping to print from my A1200 which is connected via LAN PCMCIA card. I installed the http://aminet.net/package/comm/tcp/NetParLpr - and then set the Printer in Preferences as Postscript. When I tried to print out a document from Multiview (a simple text file) the printer responded very quickly but spat out about 20 blank pages. Is there some other setting that I need to do from the Amiga side or would this be more from the printer side? When I researched about this printer it seems to support PostScript.

I have a Kyocera laser printer that is connected to my network by a CAT5 network cable. I use the NetPrinter software on my Amiga's to print over the network to this printer. Almost all laser printers support PCL5 as well as Postscript and I just use the Amiga's LaserJet driver that is included with Workbench to print, it is a PCL5 driver and is much easier to set up and use than Postscript.

I am not sure that printer is Postscript, but it might be PCL compatible.
Perhaps the most recent Laserjet driver??? |

Thank you guys, I tried it with the HP LaserJet driver and it printed perfectly from MultiView, I will give it a try with FinalWriter but it works, thank you! It was such a simple fix, haha never would have thought of it.

Actually, that reminds me I need to try that.
I haven't printed in a while from my Amiga, but I used to print to a Panasonic Laser printer (which wasn't PCL OR postscript) and I had to use Ghostscript on a Linux box for that. But since then, we have acquired a Canon laser printer and that looks to be PCL, so I need to try that... ;-) |
