Windows LZX
Does anyone know of a windows archiver or more importantly unarc program that supports or at least unpacks lzx archives?
LZH would be nice too, I cant remember if winrar supports that, I know it supports LHA. Oh and would be nice if it was free :-) |

ISTR there were earlier threads about LZX where people said Total Commander was NOT the way to go... but it could be my old memory failing

Perhaps somebody mixed up LZX and LZH. LZH ist just another name for LHA but LZX is a completely different file format.

It's really a pain to deal with LZX files when you just want to unarchive things in windows. Although the Win95 port of LZX does a reasonable job, if you drag and drop things onto it to unarchive files, they can end up in all sorts of weird places under Windows 98, like in the Windows directory.
Zipzag isn't half bad as far as I can see, though I wish it could batch convert files. Last edited by Mnemesi; 19 November 2005 at 22:10. |

It's funny, originally MS protected the CAB archives only to find out that amigans can pack and unpack them freely, no one else. Also old BIOS roms used to be packed by LHA. Go figure ;-)
