Whd-load Pinball Dreams controller question

In latest whd-load install I read this. How does that work?

- allow to play with only 2 classical joysticks (if no CD32 joypad is available)

see the readme. A user asked for this feature to build an arcade cabinet and I guess he didn't want to destroy a cd32 controller for that. Much easier to map all controls to joystick buttons & directions. But game needs more than 4+1 controls so user suggested the second joy for meta controls (quit, Y/N...)

jotd: That is great. Problem is that I tried 2 joysticks. One in port 0 and other in port 1, A1200. Zipstick and Competition pro. That did not work. I got into the game but nothing triggered flippers or anything else.

Can anyone else try this?
As said I can use joystick to get into the game, select table but after that it is no action.

I'm also interested in building a controller for this game and what you have added here is what I need. I'm most interested in the controller 1 options. That way I can have 2 side buttons and a tilt button. Rest will be controlled from the keyboard.

Jotd: If there is anything you like me to test just put it in the zone. I have a CD32 pad and there everything works correct. As you know it is possible to open that and connect but I don't like to do that.
