Amimeet 26/27th May 2012

Hi guys i have found a nice little venue for a Amimeet

Amiga get together

I have posted this on amibay but someone here may want to come

http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=26275

Can you also post on thread who and how many are coming please

I have booked the last week 26/27 May

Event

The Red Lion in Knowle

Which is a pub/resturant

1672 High Street, Knowle, Solihull, B93 0LY.Tel: 01564 771522

Which stops serving drinks at 1130pm and closes at 1200pm

Which has a bigish free carpark and is open 24hrs. But may have pay and display by May but will might get passes for this. Will know if changed

The room

Not much to look at as has not been used for a while

Seats upto 60 people but looks big enough

We can leave kit in the room from friday evening

And can use from 9am Saturday till late Sunday evening

The room is locked but has right of way for staff office lockers.

Costs

£75 per day so £150 for Whole weekend

I have paid a deposit today of £50

Tea and coffee making facilities will be provided with an extra charge
but the bar is under us

So we need to share this.

The Website

http://www.emberpubanddining.co.uk/t...knowle/findus/

Location

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&...ed=0CCAQ8gEwAA

Transport

Nearest railway station

widny manor

about half hour from birmingham new street railway

3 miles away

10 minuets away by taxi

Accomodation

newly built

http://www2.travelodge.co.uk/search_...p?hotel_id=519

birmingham airport

for double or single room £25.5 per night saver
1.50 cancelation charge
add 26.50 breakfast but there is enough places around venue cheaper for breakfast

or the same price for family room

4.9 mi, 14 mins from event as bigger and we can always jump in a minibus

@Amigakit and thread, it's not open to the public, i.e no admission from others outside the scene, but if anyone wants to come along from Amibay/EAB/etc please let us know and you'll all be welcome. We will need to know who is coming and if they want/need any table space.

Would be nice to see Amigakit there and maybe an X1000 up and running but I don't think you'd make a lot of sales as it will be a small crowd, certainly will be fun from a social side though

Steve.

These events are rarely economically viable: but we always like to support these initiatives.

Nice looking pub.

Aim of the meet is anything in particular, or just get together?

Just a get together to hang out, show off our machines. Perhaps see and use some hardware you've not enjoyed before. We'll all go out for a nice meal Saturday night and have a laugh.

Out of interest, if there are people who are only able/willing to attend one of the days of the meet and not stay anywhere, is that also possible?

Woot !!!

I bought my current car from Coventry, flew into Birmingham from Belfast City.

But the bit I don't like is

"Which stops serving drinks at 11:30pm and closes at 12:00pm"

Only Joking !!!!

Post your Paypal ID and Im more than happy to make a (Sizeable) contribution.

PS anyone going to the BBC 30th ???

http://beeb30.havnet.positive-internet.com/

I never owned a beeb, but like the Amiga it was years ahead of its time, and was a pioneer of British ingenuity.............none of the cheap american rubbish (oops I forgot this is an Amiga Site )
