Looks like they used the wrong screenshot! Goldeneye remains my favourite FPS on the N64 and it was THE game that made me buy an N64 back in 1996. There was talk about Ninty releasing an adaptor for the GameCube which would allow you to play N64 games, but sadly it never surfaced.

The biggest game crime on the N64 was that the big "N" never bothered to release either SFII or Super Metroid on the N64. This puzzles me even today.

With the eventual introduction of downloadable retro games on the Wii, means that no one will be able to physically own their favourite games. Ninty will make a minty out of making us all pay again for their old games. ($$-kerching)

Definitely-- Although the counter-argument here is that Nintendo never forced you to throw out your N64 when you 'updated'. If you own the games, you presumably own the console and can play it at will. If you don't own the game, you should pay for it, and if you threw it out or sold it, that's your own fault!

You certainly can't expect them to start manufacturing N64 carts again!

Had a day off yesterday and me and some mates spent the day playing Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64, Snowboard Kids.

I also had a solo game of Forsaken 64, man I loved that game.

Good good, glad to hear it!

I think most hardcore retro fans will eschew these online solutions in favour of running their own emulators, buying the original or kit, or if they're lucky, playing on the original kit they already own.

The only people I know who have expressed interest are my non-techie (and I mean seriously non-techie

) friends. However even they have expressed the opinion above-- I.E Why should we re-buy the games. I set them straight

Although it's nice to have a single box for a lot of this stuff, and a chipped X-Box is the perfect tool

The interesting thing about playing, say, Mario Kart 64 on ones PC under emulation... is the ability to play it in higher resolution with perfect 60FPS... it both looks and plays better than on the real machine... (besides the few quirks that still needs to be fixed for the game to emulate perfectly).

I used to have a N64 console, these days (as with everything) I use emulation due to space issues

I'll PM you a good site to get N64 roms...
