Prince, Phobia, Discovery and Wanted
I'm looking for disk images of these games ever since I failed to convert my original ( = copy protected) disks into adf files. Before anyone asks: I've tried all the ways proposed in the 'how to find your adf' guide - searchengines, big and small sites, ftps.
Short descriptions of the games (to make sure there are no name confusions): -Prince: an 'RTS' in which two medieval princes' armies clash in the fight for domination on a choosable island (didn't find it anywhere) -Phobia: classic horizontal shooter; flying from planet to planet, each has a 'phobic' theme (found one adf, but that only produced a 'good old' Guru Meditation after the title screen) -Discovery - In the steps of Columbus (not the platformer!): european superpowers settle in America, fight amongst each other and the Indians (nowhere to be found) -Wanted: four different gangsters have to be busted; in the main menu, you have to shoot at the guy's picture you want to hunt (found two different adfs on five different sites: one version didn't even boot, the other showed a title screen and then freezed) If anyone could help me out, it'd be great! |

Ok, files in The Zone. But they are in the TOSEC database, so they are available at usual places like Emuchina and Planetemu.
edit: ooops, guess Walker had the same idea |

Yup, but at least we used different versions for Wanted... I guess I don't have to upload Prince then! |

As I said, I already tried all of those. Nothing but dead links or non-working versions.

Both Phobia and Wanted are in TOSEC, and I tested them before uploading. They work.

Your version of Phobia might work, yes. The download link is a 404 though...

Edit: To specify this further: On Planetemu, it's 404, on Emuchina, both Phobia archives are broken zip files which cannot be extracted.
Ok, Discovery and Prince are solved - thanks Last edited by Mr Creosote; 29 July 2002 at 00:07. |

I didn't check that Wanted... hope it is the one.
The Tosec files are there, but they are trickier to get, as the FTPs are always full. Anyway, that's what we are here for. |

@Mr Creosote: Fissuras & Walker have uploaded the games to this server... just click on the button "the zone" at the top of the web-page.
and for specific emulator game problems, please use the dedicated forums. |

Thread fixed, splitting the problem onto the right forum.
Creosote, please use IRC if the sites fail. That is one of the options described in the game request FAQ. And the games over there are ALWAYS available and working. |

I just downloaded one of the Phobia zips from Emuchina (using IE, and after 3 'Reloads' because the FTP server the files are stored was full ["too many users"]) and got a fully-working 458 KB file in the end. Don't know why this never works for you. Bad luck perhaps |

Uh.... I guess I must be blind. Sorry, I wasn't aware of this structure of the board with 'The Zone'. I finally got them all to work with these versions (even if I had to install and boot MS-DOS since there seems to be no Fellow for Linux ). Thanks a lot to you all! Just one final word on Emuchina: Do you seriously consider that site usable? To get to the files, I had to go through one menu which consisted 100% of blinking text! Most listings simply timed out 90% of the time. And download speed was below 1kb/s (on DSL). Sure, the last two problems might have been bad luck, I maybe always tried at bad times of the day. But blinking text? Come on!
Anyway, kudos to you all again - I'm off to play those masterpieces now |

I usually get 5-6 Kb/s on Emuchina... And I've downloaded Gigabytes of roms from there. Just do a list of files you are willing to download and set an FTP client to download all of them for you.
It takes mostly 3 times only to connect to their FTP, and once you are in, the FTP dpwnloads all the files (one at a time) |
