Okimate 10 driver compatibility

So I found several Okimate 10 printers on eBay, and I am tempted to get one of these for my A500. I sent a message to two of the guys selling theirs and asked them a question regarding the drivers. I have a set of WB1.3 disks, and the Extras disk contains a driver for the Okimate 20. I asked them whether this driver is compatible with the 10, and one said yes, they are, while the other say that it will not work as the 10 is designed to be used on the Commodore 64 and Atari computers. Is this true?

I had one of these many years ago. You can just check the interface board connector. If it's a Commodore IEC plug it probably won't work with the Amiga. As I recall you can swap the interface board for the IBM Parallel port style. Finding that unicorn may be another matter

I believe the Okimate 10 is a 9 pin (thermal element) and the Okimate 20 is 24 pin (thermal element). The Okimate 20 made a much better color print. Both were quite expensive to use, on the order of $1.00 per color page 25 years ago.

Don't bother with the Okimate 10. If you are set on getting one of these get the Okimate 20. This printer is slow and expensive to operate. I have both the Oki 10 and Oki 20. It's fun to print a page or two and then back in the box they go.
If you want to have some fun for cheap you can "emulate" the Okimate 20:
