New version of WinUAE-X on the way?
XPort, a guy responsible for most emulators for Xbox (WinUAE-X among others), is back after a looong break. Great news, especially that there were no other UAE clones for Xbox in development, and XPort has been always denying to release his sources.
Personally, I'm looking forward to Lemonade frontend, Competion Pro USB joystick support and ISO/mp3 handling http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showforum=96 |

I'd like to know how the hell you configure the pads so I can play a 2 player game on diff pads!
When I played with it I almost had it working but player 2 kept going left & down!! |

I had difficulty getting SWOS working a while back so I gave up.
I might give it another go soon, but it'll be from an HDF as I find adf's a massive pain in the arse. Does WinUAEX support directories as hds? |

Yeah I tried SWOS and then Blood Money with the same lack of success!!
Surely it'd make more sense to just have Port 1 as Joy 1/mouse and port 2 as Joy 2.. With an option to reverse them if required! |

The author of WinUAE-X has said that his legacy is to open source his emulators once he leaves the scene. WinUAE-X will hopefully be maintained.

Never tried WinUAE-X. Must do so soon though, maybe there's a reason when the new version comes out

it's out:
WinUAEX v9 >> Xport released a new version of WinUAEX(info) - an Amiga Emulator for Xbox. What's new/fixed: * ISO/MP3/CUE support (but same CDDA bug as with real CDs - see notes) * ISO/MP3/CUE also works across network and on ISO9660 * GUI brought up-to-date * Minor optimizations, perhaps extra 1-2 fps * Fixed bug where if you changed graphics filters you would get black screen * Fixed ISO9660 bugs * Fixed Relax bugs * Fixed bug where mouse input was not being recognized if only one USB mouse was attached to the XBox. Hopefully 2-mice will still work. * Flicker filter setting now saved for each game * Multiple joysticks problem should be fixed * CD32 Blue button fixed * Cleaned up the Kickstart ROMs and gave proper names to them. * Added more robust/correct "Machine Defaults" * Save states now store the currently inserted disks in all of the disk drives. Now you shouldn't have to worry about whether or not you have the correct disks in the drives when you load a previously saved state. * New game configuration option : "Clip Excess Video Borders". When enabled, WinUAEX will attempt to only display the currently active game screen and remove the excess space. This can result in some screen jumpiness in certain circumstances, but does give pleasing results from time to time. This is off by default. * Fixed bug where if you configured/ran a HDF file, then exited the emulator, restarted it, and tried to load the game again from the saved configuration, it would fail. * Can now select keys on the virtual keyboard with the Left Analog stick * New in-game menu option "Rotate Disks" - this will rotate the disks in the 4 floppy drives. This can also be assigned to a button combination in the usual way. (Go to controller configuration, Change Emulator Definitions, then map one of the "Emu Buttons" to "Rotate Disks" (it's at the very end of the list), then go to Change Joypad Mappings, Change Game Mappings, and assign it a button combination.) WinUAEX Amiga Emulator port for XBox v10
What's New: - Possible fix to the infamous Samba bug for some people - Adjusted LEDs display Important Notes --------------- I poked around the Samba code again and saw something that was definitely a bug. I don't know if this will be the thing that prevents some people from using Samba, but it definitely fixes something. Please provide feedback to me on the forums if you test this. I need to know if it's working when it wasn't, or if it's not working when it was or if there wasn't any change at all. |

Does anyone know how you get the CD32 buttons working please?
Banging my head against a wall over this one (using v16 btw) EDIT: I've deleted all associated *.ini files to start afresh but no look, Everything else works fine and CD32 d-pad works but thats all (Roadkill and D/Generation AGA are what i've been trying to get to work and i remapped the numerical enter key to exit the Roadkill crack no problem) Last edited by CHook/OTT; 29 March 2007 at 20:29. |

After you have loaded the CD32 game then press right thumbstick to access menu.
Go to controller config and assign the CD32 buttons to your controller, then goto joypad mappings and just select which button you wish to use. E.g CD32 FFW to Right Trigger and CD32 RWD to Left Trigger.. get the drift? |

Hi Retro,
After deleting the .ini files the joystick config remains default (buttons 1-31) except i've changed 28 to space, 29 to return, 30 to F1 and 31 to F2. In the mappings i've removed all other buttons to display nothing and assigned CD32 buttons as you stated Play=Start, RWD=LTrigger, Green=A etc but still no buttons work just DPad (on Joy1 & Joy2) Am i still missing something? Can't believe this has got me stupmed |

DPAD should be mapped as JOY2 right, JOY2 down etc.
Make sure it's not parallel JOY2 you map. |
