Agreed with @AmigaJay, IK is too slow for CD32.

Haven't tested Karateka yet but it sounds like a 68020 will handle it fine. What's more, if it's system-friendly like all of meynaf's other releases, adding CD32 pad support will be easy (I might need to be a little creative but with seven buttons, we should be able to make controls work)

We'll no doubt do an ST pack sometime.

Recent conversions that work perfect on CD32:
- Where Time Stood Still
- Gauntlet
- Joust
- Metro Cross
- Solomon's Key

Sluggish but playable:
- Back to the Golden Age (I need to investigate but I think we might be able to make this save to NVRAM)

<- Everything above this point is already on the Community Compilation I released at Christmas.

Too slow:
- Super Sprint
- Oids
- IK

I thought IK would have been fine on at least a standard A1200

is it possible for someone to edit the port to reduce the requirements ?

No worries Ransom. Unfortunately Karateka doesn't work on a real console for some reason no problem in WinUAE. Zerosphere is amazing though, such a great concept and one of the most polished indie platformers on Amiga (also, if you haven't played it, "The Game" on that collection by JayMiner is totally amazing and even autosaves to NVRAM).

@AmigaJay congrats on your first release. I've let Neil at Indie Retro News know. Do you mind if we post on it over at cd32.co.uk? We'll direct link to your post of course.

Also - this is from Steve. This was going to be our version of the same idea but we never got around to finishing it.

@Earok - I completely agree with you on "Zerosphere" Its superb. (On a side note) I wonder if the game can be modified so it does not have that zoom effect?

"The Game" - Amazing. Just tried it. I will put this on the "To play" List!

Bubble Bobble CD32 Cover. Aren't all the colors just lovely

Haha, but the zoom effect is the gimmick of the game the guys who made the game are on EAB though, maybe they'd be willing to add a cheat mode of some sort.

Edit: Zerosphere just won Amiga 68K game of the year, against some extremely tough competition with Solomon's Key 2 and SQRXZ 3.

I did not know the history of that game. I just randomly tried it and enjoyed it a fair bit.

As you may have seen in the Bubble Bobble thread, it looks like on the menu when someone presses a button not assigned to a whdload or cd32load file it comes up with an error and reboot is needed, is there a way to set all other cd32 buttons to a nil/void type situation so this doesn't happen?

Great stuff! One thing I would love to see (sorry if it's a bit cheeky to make a request) is The Desert Strike series. There was always something special about those games and they still hold up incredibly well today.

Some help for the following please. I'm in the process of getting some of these cool compilations on a SX32 CF. Triggering them from X-Bench. Now I noticed that the cdxl movies do run from the CD, but not from the CF/HDD. I assume it's a matter of using the correct arguments for cdgsxl, but I can't find any documentation about it

Can somebody point me how to run a .xl movie from HDD with the cdgsxl command? Thanks a lot!

Update: Found it myself, the extra argument needed is "dosxl".

@spannernick All of the games should be on AmigaJay's Team17 collection. If you still want the Alien Breed Saga specifically I'll look at re-releasing it in the next week or so

Hello, just a quick question. When most conversions disappeared from http://unofficial-cd32-ports.blogspot.com.es/ , also all the DVD covers were lost. Is any FTP or url where download these covers?

Regards,

Salva

Let me know what ones you want, I should have them in some form or another. (they're scattered through my email, my hard drive etc so I don't have them readily accessible in one place)
