Looking for games that allow you to scan in pictures of your friends?
Hi
I was wondering which games [I presume there are some] that allow you to subtitute pictures of your freind's headd in place of monsters/characters in the game world. I have vauge memories about a doom type game allowing this but cant really remember. Can anyone name some games which allow you to do this? Many thanks |

I think it's possible in Hired Guns - there's a character generation utility.

Slightly off-topic as I never knew of any amiga title that did this, but I recall an arcade game where you'd get a mate to have his face scanned in. Then you'd put on this giant boxing glove & proceeded to beat the crap out of their faces, seeing them enlarge & swell up,bruise etc.-good for a quick laugh!

Just for the sake of interest
The game you described is Sonic BlastMan - Real Puncher.
There's one at the bowling alley where I used to work. (ahhh memories) |

Ironic. We were talking about this today here at work (me and some of my co-workers) how we would like to have a virtual-reality type game where it would take place at one's job, you could map in your co-workers and go postal on them. What a tension reliever! The boss pisses you off, you come home from a bad day at work, load up the game and your custom config module and blow everyone away. Would be more controversial than Carmageddon!

That's basically what Sonic Blastman does it It has a camera on the machine, so you put your face (or your friend's face or anyone or anything you want) in front of the camera, so the game takes a picture of it. Then you can punch it 3 times , and see what 7-Zark-7 said it happens

Corporate identity
This story is generally known - I think. Core Design used the ‘scanned picture’-feature as a marketing gimmick with Corporation. People who had bought the game could sent in a photo with the floppy to Core. They would scan it in so the face of the game’s hero would be replaced by the photo.

Is it possible to do this now?
I was under the impression that there were quite a few [or at least one!] games that had this feature. May be not. Thanks |
