Support for real time floppy disk access

I was hoping to use FS-UAE to boot from a real floppy disk (ADF format, USB mass storage presentation). Unfortunately, it seems that currently, the software loads the entire disk into memory rather than accessing it in real-time. While it work, this rather defeats the joy of using a real disk.

Is it possible to use a disk in real-time in this way? Or is this a reasonable modification that could be achieved? Or is it in fact necessary to pre-load the whole disk?

I think this was answered in another thread; but anyway, this is not really feasible. PC-drives cannot read Amiga-formatted floppies, and if you're talking about putting ADF files on a PC-formatted floppy, then you have even less control of the read; the operating system itself may choose to read and cache data. And if it were possible to read Amiga floppies in a more direct way, there would be timing issues with the emulation (With specialized floppy drive hardware, it would probably be possible).
