It took me some time to try it, but once I tried, hard not to play to finish - Far Cry Primal. Love the story, settings, beasts in game... got village close to 100 already, and map is still filled with missions and things to do. Nice game.

You're stronger than me, after around 30 hours of playing I was so bored with the game. Late game is just more of the same of the early game, only harder / more frustrating.

I can see game becoming repetitive, and getting more hard, but also getting skills unlock helps, from owl that can attack (shortening period between attacks) to more power beat that you can tame and use. Once you unlock saber-toothed tiger, game becomes somewhat easier.Still frequent death (falls, being pray while you in hunt etc.) and a lot of saves...

I never played Far Cry 1 or 2, did just start 3 and never got more than first mission. (will have to play that at some point in time)
From Ubisoft games I completed only Assassin Creed 1 long time ago, and that had disappointment ending. Speaking of Far Cry Primal, do not go north unless you ready to go north - lesson learned hard way. ![]() I will have to look to get FC1 and 2. I don't think I have them yet. |

FarCry was an awesome, technically advanced, beautiful game. Just wish I spent more time playing it.

FC1 was lots of fun. Cool weapons and vehicles, fun gunfights and super smart AI. I really felt like I was being hunted in that game.
I much prefer the original Far Cry's structure than the more repetitive, open-world approach taken by Far Cry 3. |

I've been playing FrostPunk last week. Some fun, lots of repetitiveness and lots of struggle... almost to point that at times is a bit too much. For example, you finally manage to heat and feed everyone and medical buildings are full just to have 100 new refugees at your front door asking for help... and all of that just before another storm. Bit too realistic...

I decided I'd give The Simpsons: Bart vs the Space Mutants a fair shot.
I've played it on and off my whole life, having never completed level 2. So! I looked at all the versions I have access to, I decided on Retroarch and the Sega megadrive version. Auto save state on quit the emulator and on starting, along with instant save state controls were the deciding factor. I had planned to finish it on the A1200 and nes too. And, ffs, this game is cheap. And unfair. Every jump has to be pixel perfect. Instant deaths are everywhere. Very frustrating. It's so tedious! I used save states. Over 150. And I got to the end. And I think, I don't really ever want to play it again. I want to play a good platform game, if anyone has any recommendations. |

Yep, really... what kind of platformer are you looking for.
I probably used more save states playing MUSHA on Genesis and don't regret it. I was able to finish the game. Some stages I played like 50 times until I figured out what or how to do. (I know, I am slow learner) I finished quite few platformers on Amiga, NES, SMS/GG, Genesis/MD, Snes to name few systems from the era, but what are you looking for really? |

In theory I have lots of time to play but sitting with kids and my wife does not give much time in practise.
Anyway I still had time for: Iron Horse Toki Jurassic World Evolution Tiny Barbarian DX (lamost finished) Assassin's Creed Unity (finally finished) |

I've been playing a boatload of old PC games since GoG was having a sale where they were going out for next to nothing. Been (re)playing Legend of Kyrandia 3, X-Wing (1998 version since it works the best with my gamepad), Lands of Lore 2, Nox, Albion, Outlaws and Colonization (1994). And that's only half the games I bought.
Albion is really kicking my ass... I wonder how I ever got anywhere in that game back in the day. Lots of saving and loading to force good RNG in the early game fights I guess. |
