Yep, there are indeed some games with "jitter" scrolling. Ninja Spirit, Tiger Road, ThunderCats. Mostly 1:1 Atari ST converted games.

@demolition
that's correct @Mrs Beanbag I see what you mean, but isn't hz and fhz too similar sounding and perhaps more confusing as terms? fps I believe, is perfectly good, it is correct in describing what happens and it's different enough to hz as a "word" to be more easily separable. About Zool, that's what I think as well. As it is, in most parts at 50fps, it belongs in that section. I think it'd bring too much scrutinization to have different sections for games which are @50fps but have frame drops. Maybe having a symbol next to them to signify that, is preferable, like, say ^ - what do you think? |

I think using Hz for it all should be fine, but for this particular thread it should just be clarified what is meant by '50 Hz game'. Should all elements be updated with 50 Hz at all times or is 95% of the time enough? Or for platformers is it good enough if only the scrolling and movement is performed at 50 Hz but everything else is happening in 25 Hz? I think sprite animations are rarely 50 Hz, but mostly <10 Hz as that is not very important.

I don't think that sprite animation in 50fps is really rare. Most of the games mentioned here are indeed full 50fps games.
Another one for the list: Silkworm |

@demolition
that's what the mixed fps sections are for, for these cases. If you feel some of the listed games fall into this category, plz say it so and we can see what we do with them. Also, about consistency. I think if 85-90% of a casual playing time the fps are kept steady, it's good enough to be listed. Otherwise a ^ signal will go next to the title to mark this inconsistency. @retro-nerd I think Silkworm is 50fps too, I'll add this unless someone wants to dispute it. |

When I wrote sprite animation, I meant changing the sprite bitmap at 50 Hz, not just changing the location.

That case should not be a factor and I think that's not even an amiga thing, even Neo Geo or X68000 wouldn't do that most times cuz it's really unneeded. Last edited by vulture; 31 May 2019 at 10:22. |

I think Shadow Fighter AGA is 50fps while the ECS version is 25fps, what do you think about this one?

I can't see any difference in Shadow Fighter AGA vs ECS. Both looks like 50fps to me.

Onescapee AGA works at 50fps if you change speed from normal to fast
the manual says such option change between 25 fps and 50 |

Ok, so both Shadow Fighter ECS + AGA and OnEscapee go in. I'll add more suggested games later on after I check them out.

Easy WinUAE test method: Switch refresh mode to every other frame, if nothing seemed to happen: 25Hz
Even easier is to open Input panel, set configuration #1 (or any other than game ports), Click Remap, press key or button or whatever you want to map refresh toggle. Select "<Custom event>" (first entry in select menu), type "gfx_framerate=[1-(gfx_framerate-1)+1]" (including quotes) in the big text box. Now selected key/button toggles between 50Hz and 25Hz (skip every other frame) screen updates. Note that cycle exact must be off for it to work. |

I'd bet that even Uridium 2 and Virocop run in 50Hz, because Andrew was a genius.
