Which wire is power on A600?

Hey there boys & girls.

My A600 tower conversion is coming along nicely (working great in fact) and before I finish the external connections I'd like to add a switch to disable the HDD (actually a CF card in my case, but that's not important here).

I don't know which of the 44 wires in the HDD ribbon cable is the power wire...can somebody please tell me?

The plan is to put a switch in-line with the HDD power so I can effectively disable the HDD device when I need to...much like you would do when running a "hard" dual-boot system on a PC.

I could figure it out myself, but I don't want to make a mess of the cable, as they are hard to find

PZ.

Erm, A600 has the same PSU connector as the A500 and A1200....

Sorry Alex, but you missed the point.

I want to know which wire on the 44 pin IDE cable leading to the HDD carries the juice

Pins 41 to 44, where:
Pin 41: +5V logic
Pin 42: +5V motor
Pin 43: ground
Pin 44: NC

Only the +5V lines need to be switched. Keep in mind , that P-ATA does not support hot pluggng in any way. Make sure to use the switch only while the A600 is turned off. Or at least use a RC-circuit to prevent the switch from bouncing (is that the correct english term?).

Thanks ganralf, that's just what I needed to know.

Zetr0...it's just that I have a game that won't load from WB and for some reason won't load from DF0 when the HDD is connected...not sure why though

if its only a 1mb a600, maybe the hd is taking up memory the game needs. dissabling at the early boot menu should release those memory buffers.
