Getting closer LoL.
Main chips soldered on and I just want say to anyone wanting to solder themselves what I used and swear by .

Antex XS25 _25 watt) soldering iron with scalloped bottom ideal for drag soldering, its included in the Antex 3 tip, kit No. MMF0070.
Gel flux ( TOPNIK ZEL) great stuff.
Chemtronics Solder Braid, another must.
Magnifing Glass,Gotta check that work !!

Obvious Top tip,put small amount of gel flux on the solder pads to hold & align the small pitch chips and you will never fail
Just hope I can program the Beast

You will, of course, need the voltage regulator to program it

Yes Steve, i will not try to program till I have it built 100%, waiting on some parts from China.
I managed to install the cut down version of ISE, Lab Tools which apparently you can run Impact as a stand alone, luckily after searching for the impact.exe in the numerous sub folders I found it and tried to run and it crashed, but it I`d forgot to run it with Admin priv`s and after sorting that out it booted, just for ref this is Lab Tools Ver 14.7 on Win 8 with latest updates

I tried to order RAM from UTSource only to be told they don't have any in stock after they charged me. Now I am hoping they will issue a refund without having to jump through hoops. Just a heads up.

If you used PayPal open a dispute if you don't get a refund In a day or two. Similarly with a credit card.

Yeah, it's weird.

This is what they wrote to me: "Thanks for your payment,
but we are sorry to let you know regarding order item
our supplier called us today this item already sold out,

we tried to find from others, but nobody can offer it"

Its the thing nobody understands when you make a board.... when you make it the stock available is > 10000 then suddenly its zero the day after you submit the design.

I'm 99% sure that any DRAM with the same pinout will work.

This is very cool, it feels like CD32 owners should be opening the Champagne and having a party about now

I just got quoted a 2-3 day lead time on the HY5118160BTC-60s by UTSource. However the Samsung part is even cheaper so worth a try.

Would something like this work? https://www.utsource.net/itm/p/1288527.html

I was checking the datasheet, and it seems that VDD and VCC pins are reversed on this one, but the data lines seem to match. I don't know if that is relevant. Also I am not sure what Vss is?

Only those lucky to have a card, which aren't many at this point The brave and capable DIYers are the ones who are currently (and deservedly) getting all the spoils.

Our champagne is still in the chiller for now
