Gfx glitch with Marvin's Marvellous Adventure etc

I've found some games like Marvin's Marvellous Adventure that show a strange flickering vertical line on the left border of the screen:

Since I've seen it also with a few other games I wondered if it can be a WinUAE gfx glitch, since I don't remember them on my original A1200+B1260...

Does it disappear if subpixel display emulation is ticked in Chipset panel?

Confirmed.

It seems if start of sprite is not "aligned" to start of bitplane and difference between bitplane and sprite start is less than 1 lores pixel, first row of sprite is not drawn. Still debugging..

There is emulation bug but game really does have very narrow vertical line in left border, between black border and game area.

This is due to borderblank being delayed by one hires pixel (undocumented feature). It is probably almost invisible when using old small monitors but it is clearly visible when using Indivision or OSSC.

It is static line, it does not flicker when moving like it does currently in UAE.

Is it ok the glitch of visible left border during intro (pciture 2) as reported also by Zarnal, when subpixel is on?

Subpixel ON causes left screen border gfx corruption with Agony. When OFF border looks fine.

Because WHDLoad version is not patched for this 'bug'.

Indeed forcing Chipset ECS solves the left border issue with Agony (WHD), even with Subpixel ON.

Yeah, Agony left border really looks like that on real AGA hardware.

Would this line be seen on a normal 4:3 crt monitor?

Same border glitch also for T-Racer WHD on WinUAE.
Up-to-date list of still affected WHD games I've found with this kind of border glitch:
  • T-Racer
  • Overkill AGA
  • Prime Mover
  • Brian the Lion
