@Sjakie43
Yep! I'm sure I can help you out with a splash screen, got loads 'n' loads of Demo logo's I could use for it, check this one out that I remade late last year and that is a little taster of what I can do btw. The EAB xmas Logo (top left) was also semi-created by me, with RCK's original logo spruced up a bit and TCD's evil snowman added we seem to have successfully gave EAB the Xmas spirit, even though it's nearly march Edit: What res would you like it, what format would you like it, what aspect ratio would you like it and I need a taster of the background colour you're using for the main site, that way the background colour of the splash screen will match and blend in to the main colour of the web page @Paranoid I'm not steeling your limelight, if Sjakie43 is happy with your splashscreen you're welcome Last edited by DH; 27 February 2009 at 19:22. |

Oh, I fully expect someone to do better. Just had the idea and ran with it. Also, unless there's something peculiar with Gamebase 64, there can be multiple splashscreens that are picked at random, so the more the better. And that might be a good idea, really, to have nice big logos of demo scene groups with 'Demobase Amiga' on top of it, rather than my mashup of a bunch of them. So like each time you load Demobase Amiga you see a full splashscreen of a Fairlight logo, Scoopex, TRSI, Lemon, etc etc. (Actually some in mine I think are logos of the demos themselves, not just groups, but I needed to fill some space and was just picking from the A.D.A. Like I said it was more the idea than my knowledge of Amiga demo history and/or Photoshop skills) |

Who cares, I think you've done a great job Good ideas too
I suppose anything from the Amiga demo scene will do, you know, sometimes throwing everything together usually looks better than trying to do it professionally That's a big hint, perfection is not always the best. Keep working on your Photoshop skills, it's worth it in the end |

Hello ,
Thanx for the responses guys I'm not sure what res/size aspect ratio is needed.... Maybe someone knows this stuff,i DO like the idea of making random splash screens Maybe Cyberdruid can help us out? Unfortunately there's no website (yet),i have no skills for that, i'm just a commodore enthousiast you know But i think it's time to do these things and make this a STUNNING project! Maybe we can all work together with assigning different people to various jobs? Let's don't forget the icons in Gamebase also? Regards Sjakie43 |

The splash screen can have any size. Just convert any picture to a GIF and place in a subfolder 'splash' with the name 'splash.gif' So DH can make anything he likes Okay the picture shouldn't be bigger than 800x600 though

Also, I don't mean to pile on work, but something that I've enjoyed doing (though not sure how possible it would be to do with Gamebase.. Maybe categories.. anyway) is to play the demos as released at a party. That way you can get a good idea of the timeframe involved, and what managed to win, say, Assembly '92. Quote:

You could upload it to the EAB file server sjakie43 Have a look here for the FTP upload account data : http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=38697&page=14
You could also use Pleasuredome (http://www.pleasuredome.org.uk/) if you want a torrent. Maybe you could use both (or I will upload it to the file server after I have the torrent if that is okay ) |
