What to do when.........
Ok, you live 20 miles from town, its 1 in the morning,no stores open, and you are really dieing to solder in some cool 1200 mods... So,you get the trusty old iron out and the tip looks like...
DSC00051.JPG So then you go out to the workshop and rummage thru your metal scraps and find some brass for the lathe and spend 30 mins turning stock thats too big down, cutting, tapping,to make one of these..... DSC00052.JPG and now it looks like.. DSC00053.JPG and NO i'm not cheap mawahaha |

I am marveling at the irony for being prepared by having a lathe a 1am but not soldering iron tips =D
A very nice job btw! Although if you want to take your soldeing up to the next level - get a variable ceramic core iron. |
