Omolungo: You're definitely setting Weak Sectors to "ignore"? I can confirm that the game doesn't boot to the main menu if this option is set to something else.

Pretty much any CD recording drive shouldn't have a problem with burning this disc.

Problem solved

@idoru
Yes, I have set Weak Sectors to "ignore", and I've followed how written in readme file.

Yesterday I tried to burn the cd with another pc and cd-burner (an old LG, my first but always fine working cd-burner).

When I've tried this new copy it was always the same story: the CDTV stopped to load after the first screen of presentation.

Then I tried a new thing: I powered off the CDTV with the caddy and the cd inserted inside the CDTV, and when I started it again the cd loaded correctly

The only thing wrong I found are some corrupt graphic in the low side of the screen while loading fmv scenes, but I don't know if it is a common thing

Strange, but at least it works for you.

I didn't notice any graphics corruption here, will double check though on my copy & original in the next few days.

It looks like there is no sound in FMV sequences, in WinUAE...

Do not talk about betas without mentioning it..

For some weird reason waveOutSetVolume (old waveOut API is used in CD audio routines because it is so easy to use and there is no need for anything special) also adjusts application's global volume setting which of course includes Paula audio, at least on Windows 7.

Some programs set the volume to zero when CD audio finishes.

EDIT: http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae.zip should fix it.

Right, just remembered this Windows audio volume "issue" too. I've noticed it on XP some month ago (Chaos Engine CD32), but forgot to mention it.

Sherlock doesn't load to main menu at all with this one...

Edit: Everything is all right after all, my mistake

After the first time I've no more had the change to load the game

Maybe there's something wrong with my cd-burner

I'll try with an older pc with another cd-burner.

If I have no success i'll PM you for a question

I can't be bothered to read through the whole thread; I do remember the jist though i.e. impossible to create a perfect image

I assume that the same is still true?

I do wonder how the perfect screenshots were taken for HOL though? Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective

Looks like someone has Burnt to Disc

I think you have to wait for the CDTV logo thing to finish and I remember graphics corruption.

I've just burnt the game using my LG drive and can confirm it working on my CDTV! I'm sure you will all agree this is excellent news and we all extend our thanks to Truman for his hard work

I shall upload the archives to the EAB FTP server in due course for you all to enjoy

Nice, I do remember musashi5150 trying everything to get a good image

...but then I went AWOL for 6 years

The only one in your list is as follows, which I guess is his upload:
/Commodore_Amiga/CD/CDTV/Sherlock Holmes Full Image.rar
Ok, will try that

I do wonder what this part is about in musashi5150's post:

I played one of the videos and it seemed fine via WinUAE.

Ok, there seemed to be some corruption when clicking on icons in the Introduction though but I guess it's the best we will get:

From memory, if this was burnt in CloneCD it worked fine on real hardware. This was a long time ago though Chances are this must still be on the FTP server? If not, I'll have it in my archives.
