You might be able to. Talk a look at the 1541.lha package on Aminet.
That was written with a Commdore A1012 5.25" drive in mind. In order to read all speed zones of C64 disks you need to adjust the drive speed slightly. If the Cumana drive mechanism can be adjusted in a similar way, you may well be able to get it to work with that program. Reading disks should be really fast. (It'll only work with non-copy-protected disks of course.) |

I used my Oceanic 118 1541 clone on my amiga using a cable from amigakit that plugs into the parallel port on the amiga then used easy1541 iirc to write .d64's back to the drive. Not sure if an amiga 5.25 drive would work though.
