CF - IDE44 Adaptor & Amiga

hello friends!

I bought from China a CF - IDE44 Adaptor and tried this firstly on my A600 and it wouldn't work. I used several Compact Flash cards like SanDisk 512 MB ,Kentron 512 MB and even a Lexar of 64MB and never had it working!

Then by accident I tried the same CF - IDE44 Adaptor on my Amiga 1200 and everything worked flawlessy!

Now I wonder what's wrong with the Amiga 600?

Is maybe all due to the KS version?

If you have any clue please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

You need KS2.05 v37.300 or greater to boot. If you have v37.299 that is your problem.

Thanks Alexh but I don't know what to think if my KS is 37.350 and I can get this CF 44 IDE working on my A600!

Did you use the same ribbon cable as in A1200?

So, same card, same adapter, no need for a cable.

Works A1200, doesn't work A600?

Hmmm...

The A600 has worked with a regular IDE hard drive?

All I can think of is voltage, check the voltage on both IDE interfaces and I bet the A600 is way out of spec, probably over.

The board in question is 100% passive, i.e. just wires.
