Internal Hard Disk any laptop one will work?

Hi I recently tried to put on old 2 gig laptop hard disk in my amiga and it worked. Wooohooo.

So will any old laptop hard disk work or was i just real lucky???

It's gotta be 2.5" IDE to work with the standard amiga cables.

Hard drives over 4gb need special treatment.

If you have an a 68020+ I recommend you use SFS (smart file system) instead of FFS the normal amiga file system you will see a 2x to 4x speed improvement.

There are quite a lot of threads in the prb.hardware forum that deal with common and often misunderstood A1200 harddrive issues.

Here is one that deals with the size but do a search ("a1200 harddrive" for example) or browse through the forum for lots more information.
