Has anyone that prepaid received a keyboard as of yet? There should be another update for those of us who prepaid last year under the presumption that the keyboards were going to be released last Christmas. Amiga on the Lake are just awful with updates for those of us who prepaid. Thanks

I'm planning to order a couple when they're available.

A question was asked further up the thread, but I don't think it was answered.
Will the re-engineered keyboard processor be available separately? I have a couple of dead A500 keyboards that could do with them! |

Amiga On The Lake whom are handling orders for kipper2k's A1200 replacement keyboard and keycaps....
Amiga On The Lake stated they would begin dispatching kipper2k's A1200 keyboard and keycaps in their YouTube video back in August. Three months on and no more announcements from them and no answer to emails. I even politely asked them where I am in the que based on my order number. I am greatful for kipper2k's enthusam and drive, I just wish Amiga On The Lake whom process the orders had the same enthusam with keeping their preorder customers informed. |

AOTL took preorders over a year ago while stating "With a six week lead time, this Pre-Order is not to raise the money necessary to then place the Pre-Order. We have already done this. We are targeting on or before Christmas 2018."
It seems as though they did exactly what they said they didn't do. |

They are just guessing on a dispatch date as they know that estimate is BS with regard to my query... That query was sent on 2nd Feb. Soldering of units and dispatch begun in August according to their YouTube video. Hardly 10 days + or -.
Time has come to be honest with their customers... |

According to info from AmiWest (I think that's where I saw it), it takes them upwards of 1.5 man hours PER KEYBOARD to assemble the units before they can ship it out... That's a LOT of work guys... Remember, these people have full time day jobs. Cut them a little slack.
I realize you've all been waiting a LONG time for these, but a lot of that was out of their control (they're just the distributor, not the manufacturer). |

Oh hmm, that seems a long time for a kit but as long as they're being thorough when packing I guess?!

I spoke to the AOTL guys this week about something unrelated to the keyboards and they mentioned they have been working 18hrs a day, 7 days a week to get the keyboards out.

I don't buy this for a second. While I don't consider myself an expert-level machinist by any means, a full PC keyboard took me all of thirty minutes to completely solder. Sure there's basic QC and packaging, but 1 1/2 hours per board? 18 hours a day means they are somehow leaving 6 hours for a full-time job, sleep, and family. Bull. AOTL could have mitigated most of the workload by offering a DIY kit. This way those who are skilled enough could have built their own, and I'm sure those same people wouldn't mind assembling for others. I understand it wasn't the focus, but it's **good business** to offer options. I understand AOTL is an independent business run by two individuals with day jobs, and as someone who has run a mildly successful business in a completely different field, I'm sympathetic to a point, but don't plaster "2019 THE YEAR OF BIG GROWTH" and go silent when asked about products if you're not taking basic steps to make sure you can even successfully manage your business. /rant |

The biggest issue here is the lack of communication.
The majority of this community are very understanding of setbacks. Here we are a year in, and while people are becoming upset, I don’t see any pitchforks. Just tell us what’s up and please update the website. The current status is unforgivable and could be remedied in minutes. |

I’ve seen many negative posts here so I decided to post a positive on. I ordered the MX Keyboard two weeks ago. I sent one email to Amiga on the Lake about estimated shipping. It was answered within a day. Today I received notification that the keyboard has shipped. Thank you Amiga on the Lake.

Cool! Make an unboxing video, yours might be the first in the wild!
It does raise the question of what's happening with preorders since August though, especially if they're shipping new orders before those from Oct *2018*. Guess another email won't hurt. But I digress, look forward to pics. |

If true, on one hand that's great that they're actually shipping them. On the other, my pre-order has been sitting there for over a year...

All they have to do is update those who preordered with a simple status update or update the site. |

I think the reason for my prompt shipping is my keyboard kit is unassembled.
