Line 1111 Emulator Error

Hi:
This is with my Amikit conversion running with 16 colors with an ACA in my A1200. I've got this message when trying to open Dopus or AmiStart. Both should work without problems without FPU, but I've got this problem in WinUAE even, when running without FPU. If I have it, they run right.

Any suggestion?

You tried to install http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/SetPatch_43.6b? Seems to be this problem for most of the cases. Another case is the "max transfer" of your drives. See http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=45491 for an explanation.

@Leandro Jardim
How would those cause a 68k line-F trap? This trap is from an unimplemented line-F opcode/instruction which is used for coprocessors. That would be FPU instructions, the MOVE16 instruction or a random crash.

@Retrofan
I think you still have a problem with your datatypes or a library using floating point as PeterK said. Maybe the GUI is using the datatypes to load an image (bitmap). Too bad the ACA doesn't have a socket for a FPU :/.

Hi matthey, I am not sure if I am correct, thats why I said "seems to be this problem for most of the cases", but you might be right.

Anyway, I had got some problems like this, with Dopus working only with special CPU modes enabled and they are squashed by this setpatch. Might this be the case of Retrofan, too.

I was suggested it could be a Maxtransfer problem as well.

Thanks. I've tried SetPatch, but it wasn't that. Now I'm going to install the System in an hdf in WinUAE (I've just formatted a copy of the CWB39 hdf), to look about problems with max transfers.
In fact they were wrong in the Cf, but I already changed them yesterday, and it keeps the same.

I also have some problem with datatypes, as when trying to use Multiview from the icon, clicking on it, it says Unknown Data Type, but it works if I select an image and I click in open with Multiview.

I tried running the same software that gave me issues off a PCMCIA SD card and it gave me the exact same errors, so in my case, I ruled out the maxtransfer problem, but my mistery remains unsolved.

I have resorted to NOT use WHDLoad , ever. I got a CD32 to play games at. My A1200 remains work-only and I stop pulling my hair out :P

It isn't a max transfer problem. It makes the same running from an hdf in WinUAE if I don't use FPU.

Edit: I've done the following: Copied the libs from CWB39, the Devs/Datatypes and the Classes/Datatypes over the ones of my Amikit. Apart that now it wasn't showing some icons, Dopus keeps hanging with the Line 1111 error without FPU. So or the error is in another library or datatype or it's another thing.
I don't believe the first because the libraries and datatypes it needs are in CWB, and now in Amikit (I will delete now this hdf).

Your suggestion is good. The newer SetPatch may fix a problem with the FPU detection and flags set in ExecBase->AttnFlags which Dopus could check and think there is a FPU. Even if that's not the problem, it's a good idea to use the latest SetPatch .

SetPatch 43.6 also fixes problems with FPU Mul/Div routines in the mathieeesingbas.library which are just not implemented in some versions of the Kickstart... Had to learn this the hard way then I updated my Lightwave converter to use system libraries when no FPU was detected...

Hi Retrofan,

try to track the bug down with Enforcer and SegTracker under WinUAE. SegTracker may give you a hint which library is responsible for the FPU access:

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=832698#post832698

When you get a guru or the output shell window scrolls up with hundreds of hits then use F12 to interrupt the emulation or click into the window.

Thanks PeterK. In fact I downloaded them yesterday, but I didn't know then how to use them.

In the messages of the Amiga when it crashes now I've got some more info:

...Line 1111 Emulator error...
PC $10563FE4 Hunk: 0000 Offset: 00000124 "msbpatch"
A7: $10335156 Hunk: 0000 Offset: 0000C6DE "Libs:dopus.library"
A7+ 4: $00000000
A7 +8:$10330470 Hunk: 0000 Offset 000079F8 "Libs:dopus.library"

And more numbers. So does it seem I've got a problem with msbpatch and the dopus.library?

Edit: msbpatch is (was) in the s-s. Now is out. Will see now.

Yes of course, you have to remove msbpatch, because it patches the mathieeesingbas.library to use the FPU. That causes the crashes then. Sad, the author of msbpatch did not think about checking for an existing FPU before patching the library.

BTW, the additional info comes from SegTracker. You can leave it installed even if you don't want to use Enforcer and VBRControl.

It works now . It was just msbpatch. Thanks mate

EDIT: It works and doesn't... It works in the miggy, but doesn't work in WinUAE without FPU. Is it wrong the emulation in WinUAE?

Well... for me it's the same, as I want it to work for real

I don't know what other patches, libraries etc you have installed on your test system ?? For example, the msbpatch doesn't belong to the AmiKit distro. So it's hard to make assumptions what you added or replaced from other sources.

The best way to find the reason for the crashes under WinUAE is still to use WinUAEenforcer. It's really simple to use that. If the SegTracker line is already installed somewhere below SetPatch then you can open a shell at any time and just type these two lines: (if used in the s-s then add >NIL

VBRcontrol ON
WinUAEenforcer

Thanks Peterk, but I'm sure I didn't add it to the s-s. Mine is Amikit updated to 5.9 (from two years ago that I started, although one year without progress). I have to see if it's a good thing to update it to the latest, but I know for example that NetSurf won't run, although surely Scummvm will do, but I can add it "manually", and it won't be surely the same version of it to make it running right (well, now I've got to see what has Novacoder done for it to work with low aspects ACA's miggys). Surely you are looking to the latest version of Amikit. Edit: Yes, I don't see any msbpatch in the latest Amikit's s-s.

Thanks, but I've got no interest in fixing problems within WinUAE.

Anyway I've liked a lot your links and programs, and I've installed as you said SegTracker.

And I also have to solve the problem with Multiview and datatypes.

Edit: And you have missed my last PM. If you like I can send YOU my Amikit, so you can make it working better

Edit Again: You should just try it, so you could see how fast it goes (and incredible chip ram, 1846672 in real miggy).

No, sorry Retrofan
Atm, I can NOT receive or send any emails since my provider is unable to get their servers up and running again. The last time, in july, they needed more than two weeks to fix it. Very sad and absolutely unprofessional.

Edit: Just a link per PM is ok.

I've got this message of Line 1111 Emulator Error now with "Posted", in Utilities. It should work without FPU, but it shows that message. I've tried the last 46.4.264 icon library too, but nothing.

Edit: I know what happens. It doesn't say anything about that it needs FPU, but if I try it with CWB in WinUAE it works with FPU and doesn't without it.

The readme of PosTED says that it needs render.library. Your render.libreary is 40.8.

The readme of render.library 40.8 says that it needs an 68881 FPU or better.

But there was an older version of render.library, v31, which should do the job without an FPU.
