Classic Workbench update and upgrade
Since there is no official way to update v24 LITE to v25 FULL, I'm planning to first make a backup, then just copy all the files on top of the existing files, overwriting when required.
Which files should I back up? I know I should back up things like startup-sequence etc. and manually merge the files, but is there anything else I will need to restore that will be overwritten (eg for remembering which WHDLoad games are installed)? |

I just managed to get it working properly by removing most of the things from WBStartup apart from copper and FreeWheel

I'd have helped with this but it would have been hard to judge the outcome of doing an upgrade in such a manner., so I kind of chickened out. Plus there are quite a lot of files a user can customize after an initial install.
I enjoy creating the packs, but I hate doing update packs and messing around writing install scripts and checking for user files that need backing up etc etc - I tried in the past, so time consuming and boring - so I've never bothered again! I only really offer support for fresh installs. Glad you got something to work in the end anyway. To answer your question about WHDLoad games - you can just rescan after an update.
