final whdload beta version 16.8
Hello,
I've uploaded the final whdload beta version 16.8 to the website. http://whdload.de/whdload/whd168.lha It contains all changed files since version 16.7. If there are no problems with these it should be shortly released the as final WHDload version 16.8 package. If possible please test this version and report all problems here, so that the final release can be made as stable as possible. Please check the History.txt contained for changes made in this release. Thank you! |

Nice update, Wepl. I like the joypad Quitkey feature, works fine here.

Works fine with Pango RC1. Just some notes though: When I try to use a hexadecimal value for the quitkey, I get a "bad number" error. I.e. I tried whdload pango.slave quitkey=$100. quitkey=256 worked fine. All from shell of course if that should be important. Also, the info text that appears before the slave is started should be adapted if quitkey is a mousebutton, at the moment it shows "press ' ' to quit", doesn't look too nice. Other than that it works fine.
Edit: seems it's limitation of Amiga DOS that no hexadecimal values can be used in the commandline. Just tried with one of my tools and it didn't work there either. I did use _LVOReadArgs and it returns with an error if "$" is used in the commandline. Edit2: Ok, it's even mentioned in the WHDLoad docs. Last edited by StingRay; 27 July 2007 at 11:37. |

It maps to backquote (`) though I don't understand why.
Edit: Now it makes sense, just checked and I had an old version of WHDLoad installed. Last edited by OddbOd; 27 July 2007 at 14:24. |

According to the rawkey diagram backquote is $00 not $100..
Hopefully someone will explain all Someone who understands this type of thing! |

@StingRay: isn't $ used to indicate an AmigaDOS script variable ? Or have I been unix-ing too long

Yep, that thought struck me right after I posted. It is indeed used for variables. If I'm bored I might code a little routine which filters out the "$" values from the commandline and converts them to decimal.

Cool, thanks for clearing it up
I presume the extra information for the new quitkey codes will appear on the whdload docs page when the new WHDLoad is officially released. |
