But I could not find a match.
Don't worry, the name of the series is enough - the quiz (especially this round) is too difficult to be that specific.

Yeah. I'm happy with what I managed to work out. Bit late though as I was really stuck on loads of them.

February Quiz - Answers & Score

A tough beginning of the new quiz year is now over. Nobody got everything right and just a handful of games have been guessed by more than 50% of all players. This means you can be proud of correctly guessing a title... because probably most participants won't have gotten it.

Warning: There are some unmarked spoilers in the comments, as some "big guns" are part of the narrative of the game (think about doomsday devices in J-RPGs).

1) Star Wars Arcade
Here's a segment from the Sega 32X port of the Arcade Game from 1994. What you see is of course the giant laser of the Death Star.
solved by: 76%
other suggestions: Another World, Metal Gear, satelite reign, Star Wing, Wing Commander

2) Final Fantasy VII
The 7th part has several big stationary guns ("Big Cannon" and "Sister Ray").

Surprized 'Subnautica' only got 12%

I know I did not get it --- but it seems very popular on the U-tubes

And the Heading for any that did not know:
Sex Machine's crotch gun (From Dusk Till Dawn)

To be fair - took a lot of research this month! There were very few I recognised and lots of games I have never heard of. Hoping for an easier Amiga based quiz next month (or 8 bit computers from the Uk)...

...and now you see why I don't want to join the competition?

All seems like way too much work IMHO.

It should be fun but...

It's like any quiz/puzzle but with a competitive edge and based around one of our favourite hobbies. Only too much work when desperately trying to beat Nobby.

Well done for the effort - it was a tough quiz and hopefully Mr H will ensure we have a nice easy Amiga centric quiz soon...

I'm not sure there'll be another Commodore round... but there will be another quiz with a heavy dose of 80s/90s home computers later this year.

March Quiz - DOS classics #3

A third entry of the MS-DOS riddles? Well, who really needs Microsoft Windows... this round focuses on PC classics from the 80s and 90s, a true retro quiz! It's not easy this time either, so will you still get at least half of the titles? I'm curious.

Deadline is Wednesday the 31st of March, please participate via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/

Here is the quiz, good luck:
