Glad to see there are still Amiga fans alive in Portugal. I used to be quite active in the 90's, even had a BBS running for some years, and I still have my A4000/040 but haven't done much with it lately! Maybe it's time to put the Amiga back into action. It does power up and works fine as always did!

Best regards.

Hello Communicator,

Welcome to EAB!

You'll find here a very active community of Amiga fans.

I have myself also an expanded A4000/040, which is a great machine.

It happened also to me after 8 years of not touching my Amiga (besides powering it up once a month or so) I had an urgent necessity of returning back to the Amiga world and since I joined EAB, it has been great fun.

Any help you need, just ask!

Cheers,

X-Pect

Hi Portugeeza welcome. Nice to ear from you. Well I thought so, just to tease you a little.

Well we are almost "neighbors". I have home also in Sesimbra where i've been living the past 8 years till 2008. Now I'm in Portalegre for professional reasons.

Well hope you enjoy it here, it's a nice place to be.

Abraço,

X-Pect

Could someone with a fairly fast Amiga (68030@30MHz at least) and an HD test an app for me? I'm at work, can't test it.

Edit: Welcome Yotoxionomai, didn't see you the first time.

Here it goes. Use it like "bawarp image.rdi" having a disk in DF0: for example. It will try to make an image. Tell me how it went.

Ups, I meant "bawarp dh0:image.rdi"

Edit: Has your Amiga exploded yet?

Edit2: Data correction could be a little on the slow side.

Damn you! But i figured out. Well 10 min have passed and i don't know if it's doing anything because my SCSI 2 disk is attached to Fastlane Z3 that doesn't pass any signal to the front HD led.

Well checked and wrote 0 bytes. Bawarp still running on the shell.

That's the problem with experimental software.

Is the floppy LED on or flickering? Did the program write anything to the shell? You can probably stop it now, I'll have to check it at home.

Dumping to CF0: works too. But it seems I still have to correct the program first. If this works as expected, it could image pretty much all amiga disks (including HD floppies in a DD drive). I just doubt there's a way to write them back to floppies with the Amiga.
