D-Link DFE-690TXD

Hello,

I found a old D-Link DFE-690TXD in a forgotten box. Does anyone have an idea what I need to do in order to transfer file from Windows/Linux to my Amiga 1200 using this card.

True. 32-bit interface is also explicitly mentioned in the specification.

The 3c589 is a good card, also reasonably easy to source.

For wireless, I would not really bother, but apparently people have had success with prism2 based cards such as the Orinoco WaveLAN series. Personally I use an Asus WL-330N3G or my laptop as a wifi -> ethernet converter if I need wireless for my Amiga.

I have used a Kingston PCMCIA EtheRx Ethernet Adapter to PC (Bridge)
and a [Updated] D-Link Air DWL-650 for Wireless

Previously ran a Thomson ST110 SpeedTouch
but it could not cope with a new router [WPA2 + AES]

But if you just want to transfer files:
A PCMCIA to CF or SD card adapter is the way to go

Why do you prefer CF to SD card adapter instead of LAN/WLAN connection ?

CF in the pcmcia is faster, Ive got a 3com 589D and using amitcp I get a few hundred kb/sec at best, where I get over 1mb/sec from a cf card in the pcmcia slot, soits generally just quicker to copy files that way. I also have a oricono gold wifi card that wont work with modern encryption for wifi so dont use it.
