The Light Corridor was a nice perspective on the bat and ball style game, quite innovative.

I havent played a lot of those but my fave is a PD game called Poing (Poing 5 or 6 i think it was)

Very addictive and you need a good mouse (not Amiga brick)

Babeanoid is not in the list. You should check it out here:
http://hem.fyristorg.com/dawnbringer/z-babe-f.html

It's a pity that the final version (with NTSC fix) was never released. It was 90% done. The previous version is good though - just hard to see the bat on an NTSC Amiga. This is the best AMOS game I've ever seen. I wish the ball behaviour was the same as Arkanoid though. If you're used to Arkanoid, the bounces don't seem "right".

Arkanoid would be my second choice. I thought the Arkanoid sequel was total crap. The graphics, sound effects and music are much worse than the original.

I still go for poing 7!
Because it uses the krakout setup.
And for sheer originality.

Cybersphere would be second for me.
Arkanoid 2 then on third place maybe, but much rather on mame/raine32 than on amiga (I think the arcade version is far superior)

And i still play it now via mame so it's stood the test of time against all the others but back to the Amiga and my vote went to the game i spent the most time playing and that has to be MegaBall. For a shareware game this was sooooo bloody addictive and i spent more time playing this than the majority of commercial games around at the time and kept going back to it time and time again for months

The best breakout game ever in my opinion is the PC/Apple cd-rom game Bolo by dongleware.

It includes all the physics (rubberbands, magnets, friction, gravity, etc. etc.) similar to their famous Oxyd games.
And it allows you to move the bat freely around the screen. This adds a whole new dimension to breakout, and it should have never been the same afterwards. But somehow nobody noticed this evolution, and up till to day, all the breakout games still fix the bat at the bottom.

It is rare, but there is a yahoo group about it
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/bolo-dongleware/

and there is even a freeware level editor for it
http://boledit.sourceforge.net/

There is also a hi-res monochrome Bolo game for the Atari St which was the predecessor to the above pc game.
