There were some games with unlimited energy trainers that had the same problem. Probably a 'why not, it's possible' trainer

Those are sloppy trainers. Even if your character is invincible it should die when it gets into a place from which it can't escape. If the person who wrote the trainer is too lazy to do that then the least they could do is include a function to kill your character off when that happens. There's a large segment of guys that are just concerned with slapping +1 on something with no concerns about quality. That's my definition of lame.

O, they did include option to kill yourself, but that does not help when you reappear at the same location.

Are you sure this wasn't the infinite lives option?

Spherical - the trainer added keyboard shortcuts that could not be disabled and that overwrote the in game keys. Most importantly the "Retry level" key was overwritten. I think it was F1 or F10 something like that. That key was very important in this game. Without the retry key, the game was pretty much ruined, since a small mistake could mean you had to quit the whole game. So basically the trainer permanently patched the game and made it impossible to play it as intended.

Made me buy that awesome game though

All the Total Recall trainers don't work past the first level as the game loads over the program memory.

If you're a useless lam3r at games, like me, then this is the only way you'll ever see the later parts of a game

I always prefer a skip level option, but yes you are right. When you need to restart a level everytime you lose a life it's really annoying/impossible to see the end.

Hang on...when I defeated Turrican's end boss (with all the cheats switched on) and the sprite would run to his spaceship, the game would then proceed to award me heaps of points...and never stop. And so, I never got to see the ending to Turrican, which made me very sad.

Are we talking about the same thing? Should I disable some cheats so I can make it to the final cut scene?

Myth History in the making...

almost each world you have to skip near the end, because some passage is screwed by other settings (unlimited energy or some object you shouldn't have)

and how the f#*k are you supposed to enter that door with the wiking trowing axes at you barfing "Get Back!" in the while, with trainer on?

The Problem with the Turrican trainer is probably concerning the Supplex +9 trainer? This is the only one with the level selector so it's sad that one of the greatest classic games don't have a decent, working trainer. I think that the problem is with an unlimited lives cause I once started the game from the last level with only the unlimited lives option selected and the game resulted to start loop at the ending phase.

one of the most idiot trainers I've found was for Robocop 2, unlimited time. Fine, you will never ever get past the second "level" where you have to shoot targets, since the time will never run out.

Dyna Blaster...

Dyna Blaster (1991)(Hudson Soft)[cr VF][t +11 ZNT].adf is the only version that has the PAL fix but the trainers sucks. Unfortunately whoever added the trainer enabled the code to turn everything on, even if you have all the trainer options off your bombs are always fully expanded etc.
