@Wolf32:
I had a deeper look on UK ebay. Here's a link for the adaptor: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Com-Adaptor-PS...QQcmdZViewItem As keywords you should use PS/2, 5 pin. Additional you can use DIN and adaptor Cheers Josh |

thanks, thats awesome, though I recently found an adapter to use a standard ps/2 PC keyboard with A4000 or CD32 - that would be more useful since I dont own an amiga keyboard. ...but its significantly more expensive at just under £20. I dunno if its worth it :S

It seems to be loading official discs (original and burned) fine. I dunno what is wrong with it but I am getting a bit worried... Last edited by Wolf32; 04 February 2008 at 22:38. Reason: adding more details |

Aren't those lazers lifetime limited to the number of hours it's in use? The one thing that bothers me the most about all my Amiga hardware is that someday it will break and I won't be able to replace it or repair it. Hopefully it will be years from now.

My cd32 seems to be experiencing a phenomenon of loading any disc perfectly the first time it is switched on but after being reset it will have trouble doing anything. this is immensely confusing.

I have that problem already, my 500 died, my 1200 has problems loading floppies with internal AND external floppy drives and my CD32 has the problems mentioned above

cd32s are not that expensive. A matter of fact they are the more affordable amigas out there if you have everything to make it into an amiga. Look around. I would think from 60-100 USD you could find them in the UK.

The lasers you can still buy thankfully and I'm certain there's a website out there who are able to supply the actual mechanism it sits in. But yes as time moves on the parts will eventually fade out. I'd start collecting custom chips first though

good news for my CD32 I found out what is causing it to read discs intermittently, and its probably the last thing I would have guessed. My own computer. My PC. Simple as that.... whenever the PC is switched on (which is 90% of the time) the CD32 acts like the CD drive is dead, but when the PC is off? ... the CD32 reads discs, and not just reads them, but reads them very fast. I have pretty much (90% certain) worked out this is due to the wireless internet on my PC causing RF interference which at a close range is too strong for the CD32 motherboard shielding to protect against, causing the drive controller to malfunction.

Wow seems like you have a powerful wireless in your home, maybe you should shield it a little for your own sake

lol I dont know, its a standard wireless pci card and a standard mini antennae, but I dont know what else my computer could be doing that will disrupt the CD32. As further proof of the wireless being the problem, while the shielding was off the CD32 motherboard, my laptop, which has a small PCMCIA wireless adapter caused the CD32 to screw up somewhat, but when i replaced the shielding the laptop had no effect. My older laptops with no wireless had no effect on the CD32 whatsoever.

Forgive me if this is old news or not allowed but I noticed today you can download this CD32-88 compilation here:
link removed: Pirated WHDLoad keyfile is on that compilation.. DO NOT POST IT AGAIN... bippym Thanks to whoever is hosting it. Edit: Oops. Sorry. I genuinely had no idea there were pirate WHDLoad keyfiles included in this. I understand the importance of not ripping off the WHDLoad team who put in a load of hard work and I am already a registered user. Last edited by crabfists; 05 June 2008 at 20:47. |

Someone needs to remake the compilation with the free CD32 WHDLoad keyfile.

How is possible to run Venus the Flytrap from "444" compilation on CD32? I can "insert" credits with d-pad but there is no response to any firebuttons.

Citadel from "888" have damaged music and only black screen after start of the intro... CD32 version of Donk is crappy joke, someone changed good sfx to shitty sfx. Also, please don't use techno "music" in menu compilation anymore.
