Elf (Ocean) - US version
Anyone happen to have this or know someone who does? I'm under the impression that it's a US version at least by virtue of having completely different artwork (as seen here, at the bottom). I remember seeing it on eBay a while back but never really thought to get it before someone else already did.
What with all the ways the European and US versions can differ from one another besides the PAL/NTSC issue, I'd love to know if, for one thing, this release still uses CopyLock, or instead manual protection, or even something else. |

Nothing? I was hoping somebody from this community at least still had a copy of it. Where else would the scans come from?

I'm afraid to inform you, jujasi, that the MicroValue Elf and Ocean Elf are two entirely different games.
Furthermore, the copy of the Ocean game you uploaded is the Flashtro crack, which is easily obtainable on the Magix FTP anyway. And it's still the UK version. I'm specifically enquiring about the USA release, if such a thing indeed existed - though I'd say the alternative artwork (which I linked to in the first post, as well as the alternative disk scan) would suggest it does. I so wish I had grabbed it when it was on eBay yonks ago... |

What luck! Turns out there's an eBay US seller offering the version I'm after atm. (UK link)
The "ships to" bit only mentions U.S. though, which probs explains why the listing never turned up in eBay UK's search results. Sent him a message and am hoping we can come to some overseas shipping deal nevertheless. |

Good luck with your bid MethodGit.
If the seller wont ship to the UK then maybe a member on this forum from the US could accept the delivery and then forward it to you? |

Whaddaya know, it's sorted!
Guy was able to provide international shipping after all, though the combination of the final price and the shipping charge had it all come to a total of £50.55. My poor wallet. >.< All in all, this had *better* be a significantly unique version from the PAL release. I'm expecting full NTSC glory, and perhaps some different protection... |

My god, you paid 50 pounds for Elf from Ocean? The original game looks like it's designed for NTSC screens anyway so I'd be surprised if it's much/any different to the normal version!
Since you've bought it though, good luck... |

Thanks. I obviously don't like having to pay through the nose for a single title, but as I had already let this slip once before, I wasn't willing to lose it again.
I'd still love to get Insects In Space one day but to get it off Penfold as of this time would set me back roughly 45 smackers! So obviously I'm hoping someone out there will just cough up an original image or alternatively the missing IPF. Oh yeah, and this Elf purchase was on top of having paid another seller £41 in the same week for a large collection (24 mags) of Amiga magazines and their respective coverdisks, including a few really obscure Amiga Action ones I'm sure AMR would love to have! |
