Well, what is 'close'? Everything is relative.. They announced that they would release a Gold 2.7 core but we also haven't seen that yet (still being tested), so surely Gold 3 is more than a couple of weeks away. It might be a couple of months or perhaps even longer. I'm hoping it will be before christmas though. The SAGA update in it is a wish come true for me.
By then they should also have started to ship V4s, and they may ship with G3. |

Hello. Was wondering if a new version of the hardware will happen on the A600/A500 and the V2.x boards.
Today we are V2.2, right? |

@seb132 as we progress, surely we will work on more models in future years for mentioned Amiga models. As for V2 series and revision 2.2 for A500/600 I think that this model is on its limits regarding improvements on hardware side using components that are already there. Some minor fixes might happen due to requests from our manufacturers(PCBA factory etc...) but in overall this is not something that end user will notice. Like I m using revision 2.1 all the time on my A600. V2 series proved to be good and demand is still very high for them. Lately I was very focused on V1200 development to bring V2 series to that amiga model. It was very hard work, let's say insane and huge challenge but that's finished few days ago with huge success. In the future surely we will plan V3,V4 or whatever V to all amiga models but with V2 we put bar very high so it will be hard to top that. We will try to listen what community and other development groups say or demand and try to do our best.

Hi majsta,
Is there a technical reason why memory size was not increased for V1200 ? |

On this V2 concept this would be very hard, doable but very hard to design as there are no "bigger" SDRAM chips on the market and there is no space on the card to place 4 chips.

@Majsta: thanks for the reply. Good to know, I was willing to buy one or 2 V2 for A600 and A500 / 2000 so knowing they the hardware is now pretty stable is a relief.
I’ve been buying (and supporting) many versions in the past since V1 (which I own 2, lol)... Cheers mate. Looking forward to ordering a 1200 one as soon as available! |
