Suggestions for past magazines for Amiga users

Hi,

I'm looking into downloading a few number of Amiga magazines dating from the early Nineties until the demise of Commodore.
I'm interested in magazine geared to "normal" users and professional users, with tips and technical articles about how to use AmigaOS or programming. I would exclude magazines focusing on videogames. Magazines in English/German are both fine.

I know there are a ton out there so I'm asking if anyone has some recommendations to have a starting point.

thanks

In the UK, Amiga Shopper was a "serious" magazine. Amiga Format, Amiga Computing, Amiga User International and CU Amiga all covered both applications and games. All of these can be found on archive.org.

You will also find the odd article in music magazines like Future Music - see muzines.co.uk.

You can also find quite a few Amiga centered or related magazines on the file server:

I'm not sure about issues from the early Nineties as I stopped getting it in the late 80's, but maybe check out Compute! Magazine. The entire collection is available on the internet archive:

https://archive.org/details/compute-magazine

In the 80's it had type-in listings of programs in Amiga Basic which I assume you're probably not interested in, but there were also articles about using the Amiga and programming topics, as well as general interest articles.

Issue 66, for example, has an article explaining various Amiga graphics concepts including a fairly detailed explanation of how bit-planes work.

Issue 91, for another example, has the first in a series of articles about using Workbench and the CLI.

And not to forget some US based Amiga magazines such as Amazing Computing, Info, and Amiga World. They were quite good back in the day.
