I love it. Every now and then we will play one of the big games in video game history and of course this is a huge moment. I remember seeing the Atari video cabinet with the handlebars in a fish and chip shop, it was such an engaging unit.

I've made it to Thursday so far, but I find it irresistible to have another go. Would I have been pleased to shell out £20 for it back in the late 80s? Nope. I preferred games with deeper story and complicated character stats But there is something wonderful about this game and over the years I've never been able to resist picking it up and throwing some rolled up papers at the low life neighbours.

When I saw the two games for this month I did think you might not be a fan of them. They both take a bit of getting used to before it's possible to make any real progress. My first few goes at Paperboy were woeful, dying at nearly everything.

Considering how the voting is at the moment you have a good opportunity to get something you want to play on top.

The arcade cabinets with special controllers always got my interest first. Probably why I got drawn to racing games so quickly. I was never any good at most of the games but I like a good gimmick or innovation.

22350. Lots of fun playing this game and I'll be carrying on with it for a few more weeks yet. Really nice to just pick up and play. Loving the odd long distance mail box shot from the road and I do enjoy the BMX track target runs.

I been so busy all week at work haven't had time to play, Got home early tonight and i haven't installed paperboy so i figured i better get a move on, so i played and of course i decide to play the easiest lvl as i haven't played it since i was a kid in the arcades. so i didn't do to well, i had a score around 5,000 was gonna post my progress and then checked the rules by chance and then i saw the where is said to start at Middle street, so i guess im not good at reading the rules lol

Can you avoid getting randomly struck by lightning?

The lightning means time up - need to do the level faster.

Can't do squat against Thor and the dwarf:

What do you have to do here? I've read Thor&Odin like knife fights but throwing knives has no effect. And you can't stab with the knife.

It's not obvious but the daggers do work against the guys in the towers.

Reached the pyramid. Got the four little jars from the bottom floor.
But here on the first floor I don't know how to beat Anubis. Tried the Eye of Horus (or Atum's Eye?) against him, trying to reflect his shots but that doesn't work.
What do I have to do?

I did that bit last night after spending ages trying to work it out. Must be the hardest part of the whole game. You want a hint...

You are stood in the exact right place. There's more to it than just using the eye.

Got it:

That was quite tricky indeed. Of course I knew about the ankh but not how to combine both items.

Soon after this the game turned into a shoot'em up which was a nice surprise!

Got to the end (illegit completion with savestates):

There never was a Dawn of Steel, was there?

Framerate is poor but Myth is still a pretty good game (I'd rate it 7.6).

Btw., what happened to Achilles:

He's not in the game is he?
