Wanted: A single Amiga key!
Hi fellow Amigans!
I recently bought a used A500 plus in good condition, but it was missing the left shift key. Since you guys have proven to have tonnes of Amiga kits lying around, and I guess this has happened before, I would very much like to buy a left shift key and have it shipped to Denmark. The key is slightly shorter than the above ctrl+caps keys combined, about 34 mm in total. What say ye? I will pay for the key and the shipping with delight!! Hi AndersHP,
If nobody closer to home offers you one, then you can have one of my spares. |

Are the keys from an A1200 identical to the A500 ones?

No, the A1200 left shift key is smaller.

Just checked up on it yesterday. Seems like the only thing on the 'board is the cylindrical white "button" in the center. I think both the key and the spring is needed... Does it consist of other parts? Oh, and if it's available in the "Vintage-Nicotine-Yellow-Amiga-Button" color, that'd be excellent Anyways, what would it be for shipping and all? Will pay via Paypal, if that's ok with you? |

PS. It's an Amiga 500 left shift key. Note that it won't fit an Amiga 500 Plus keyboard if that's what you actually have. Last edited by prowler; 24 February 2013 at 01:01. |

The Amiga A500 keyboard left and right shift keys are the same size, whereas the A500 Plus keyboard left shift key is smaller.
It turns out that AndersHP's keyboard is actually the A500 Plus type. Unfortunately, all my old, spare keyboards are the A500 type, so I cannot help after all. The A500 Plus keyboard is very similar to the A1200 keyboard layout; the left shift keys are very, very similar if not identical and appear to be interchangeable. |

Yup, as prowler states, it seems my A500 is an A500 plus (or at least the keyboard is), so what I'm (still) searching for is a left shift key of an A500 or A1200 keyboard...
Anyone else? |

Looked at some pictures and the 500+ KB looks 100% like the A1200 one. The entire 500+ KB might even fit with the A1200 top? Guess the LShift from an A600 should also fit then.
There's a full A1200 key set on ebay from our well-known friend for about £3.60 incl. shipping, search for 'Amiga 1200 keys'. Might be hard to find cheaper than that. |

I have some spare 1200/600 keys in the garage. Let me know if you still need them.

OK, I have one from a 600, green membrane mb, 34mm at the base, spring type, square peg into a round hole thingy. Is that the one you need?

I think so, yeah! The membrane type is irrelevant, I think.. As long as it's a 34 mm left shift key. Oh, and the spring - I'd really like that as well..

I don't think the blue type membrane is compatible but since he's having the keys from a green membrane, it should work I think. I haven't seen any myself, but I think the blue membrane type doesn't have any springs?
