Help:WinUAE terrible performance on i7-860

Hello all

I am running WinUAE on an old i7-860 with 16GB of RAM and win 10 +an Nvidia 650 Ti

I would have assumed this would be more than enough to run WinUAE since I used to ran it a few years back on an P4 3.0Ghz with 4GB of RAM and an AMD 9600 AGP with absolutely no problems (win XP).

This is a 10 times more capable processor and Gfx card and yet,

graphics stutter, sound is choppy and mostly unpleasant.

I've used the latest WinUAE which was literally unusable with games and I've downgraded to WinUAE 3.0.0 (2014.12.17) which unfortunately has only marginally better performance.

I am fiddled with D3D etc ...but nothing seems to fix anything.

Any ideas? I am pretty desperate here.

I know you said it didn't fix anything, but for me it did

For some reasons settings were reset to software/GDI and I had the same symptoms as you have (choppy sound especially)

i7-860 here (overclocked though) and it's still sufficient with WinUAE most of the time. It does fall below real-time in certain situations, I've found that Deluxe Galaga AGA on an cycle-exact A1200 with a 28 MHz '030 and fast RAM for example is too much for it.
