Wonder how the Archimedes thing would work out. Is it easy to find Gods? I suspect 0.1% of all voters have tried it... link me if you find it and I can try it on my Archimedeseses

I'd like to try that as well. I just recently found out about the Archimedes and it seems like a very good system. Would be interesting to see what it's like on that computer.. my guess would be that it's almost identical.

It's not for NEC PC Engine/Turbografx 16, so it's hard to find.

I have only played the Atari version, the Genesis version, the Nintendo version and the PC version.
I like the Atari version the absolute best of all these AND Gods is still one of my very favourite games AND sadly I am the only one to vote Arari so far Looks like I am going to have to play the Amiga version very very soon..actually now! What is the difference between the Atari and Amiga versions? |

Click on "DETAILS" link at the left for overview of many of the conversions to other platforms. According to that website, they like the Acorn conversion, but barely anyone has played it right? EDIT: Is there anyway to play the archimedes version by some emulator? It seems to have really good hardware specs compared with the other machines (including amiga) - 8 channel stereo sound, cpu many times faster than 68000, 256 colours. On paper at least, this version sounds good. Wonder if it has the intro + intro music like the amiga version, and whether they have increased the play speed and added in-game music. The conversion seems closer to amiga version in the pictures. Last edited by Calgor; 20 June 2008 at 07:44. |

GODS - What is the best version?
Once again, a thread like this may be pointless on an Amiga-forum, but I truly believe I can get some good information from this board.
Now, I have actually played the SNES version of Godz, and thought it was rather cool, altho STUPIDLY hard. And no password or save-function, makes it rather tough to play trough. Now, I've been reading about Godz, and it's obviously one of the Amiga top 100 from back in the day, so there's loads of fans of that version. But there are many many versions, now aren't there? It's even available on PC! I'm leaning towards the SNES-version, since the SNES is a mightier machine than the A500, and when you look at other games that were multiplatform from this era, the Amiga-versions aren't always better graphically. ( i.e Mega Turrican vs Turrican 3) Sadly, it appears like the Snes-version I played as a youngster is often slagged by some Godz-fans as an inferior version... But, I want to play the best version, so... taking every aspect of the game into account, what's the best version overall? |

I'm converted now (well at least about not making useless (Akira™) polls ) and I would at least put the PCE CD version in the poll that I won't make anymore

Yes... the Acorn Archimedes sounds interesting...
BUT... what's this talk about a SPECIAL EDITION PC REMAKE that I hear?? It combines Snes and Amiga Music, Sprites, and has a setting for changing the game-speed to whatever one is comfortable with?? It has extra levels that you can play as well?? Well! How awesome is it?? I want answers! |

Well I had the Archimedes Version back in the day and I honestly can't see much if any difference between it and the Amiga version I've got for my 1200. Yes I know its a direct port of the Amiga version

Hm, missed this thread last year
Don't know what people have to complain about the PC version though, I rate it equal to the Amiga version. Perhaps the Amiga version has slightly crispier graphics, but that is it. So for me it is a tie between the PC version, the Amiga version and JOTD's remake. JOTD's remake wins because of the added level editor and the fact it is written in Java |
