I bought 3 of them and they all worked fine with my 1200's If you download Prism2.lha off aminet there is a list of compatible cards in the file. Card is taken by Peter |

Is Samba the only Amiga software that you can use to connect a wireless card to a wireless router - you cant use Miami, Genesis for wireless connectivity?

Miami and genesis work fine..samba is for adding it to networks alongside your pc or mac etc.

Samba is LOVELY
i shall read nothing about its upto 6 hour hair wrenching installation time nor will i hear bad of losing network shares when dealing with vista boxes and Win2k3 server machines in fairness though setting up samba on SUSE is a doddle, infact i spent more time burning the linux ISO than it to took to setup a file server using Samba on SUSE. |

@Doogie
In September 2004, otherwise known as the age of intollerance, I spent fricking ages getting my miggy on the network using my XSurf got her there with ftp / net access then I decided to hcak on with samba.... I dont think I slept for a solid 32 hours after I began... truth is now I could probably do in within an hour but at the time, I had a couple of 98 boxes / 2k boxes / a server 2k3 box and a couple of xp (non sp1) boxes so it was a bit of a nightmare waiting to happen LOL! I got it up in the end but there some very strange issues like dissapering share drives etc infact the only computer that was behaved was the SUSE linux box i had also running samba LOL |

Yet again Linux shines through.
Amiga anywhere was a lot simpler I'm impressed at how well those MA401 wireless cards and the prism2 driver work though.....it's operating flawlessly! |

It is a cracking little card, I get great reception with it in an area where my desktop used to sit and get bugger all signal at all from it's rubbishy Linksys card and extended aerial!
It was a fairly easy set up too with Miami and the PrismII drivers. Its good to hear you have oodles of experience setting up Samba Z, expect to be questioned relentlessly when I get this all set up myself. (Nah don't worry, I'll let you rest, you've been working hard enough on my behalf already!) |
