@vikingo
Your post isn't really relevant for the News section so I merged it with this thread Server problems again, I'd imagine. A real pain. |

>Some time ago I suggest to Kim to move to BlueHost or something similar.
Surely not BlueHost, remember how they wiped Woodshed's medical help forum, KG's site, etc.? |

Bluehost are a good hosting company, and you get a lot for your money. However they only provide shared hosting accounts. These are more than enough to host a forum, but cannot cope with a large site the size of LA.
The stability and up time of dedicated server hosts is quite an issue these days. I've had trouble with stability from a number of different hosting companies over the years and I'm still looking for the best performance/reliability/price ratio for a dedicated server host and yet to find the perfect one. It is very hard to locate the right one, and you also have to take into account that sometimes it can be a script running on your site that can keep taking a site down, and not just the fault of the hosting company themselves. So easy to kill a server by overloading a mysql cache for example. However, even if it were one of your own scripts bringing a site down, you would still hope that the server support team managing it at the data centre would be able to get it back up and running asap, and not leave you waiting for hours, if not days for it to be recovered. That in my opinion is the most important part of finding the best dedicated hosting companies. |

Do we really need more and more posts everytime Lemon is down?
It's pretty obvious it's a problem with the server their end. |

Shhh, don't tell those who have 2-3 times more posts then I this 'secret'.
Ohh, shit, you both are one of 'them'. Kim should really take seriously this hosting issue. I'm sure that it would be less posting when LA is up and running instead when is down. |

At the risk of stating the obivous, it isn't just Lemon Amiga, it's Lemon 64 too. It's pretty obvious that Kim doesn't give a crap about Lemon 64 anymore but I thought he was more attached to Lemon Amiga. It's odd that he doesn't just switch to another hosting company and be done with it. I guess he's busy with a new girlfriend/job/whatever.

Where did you get the info about Saturday? It's really a pity that it's down this often At least the Lemon competition guys can post their scores here (if they know that they can do it...)
