Whatever did happen to AP's Gloom demo?

This has always intrigued me for years. It was clearly advertised as being on Disk 2 of AP52, and I'm pretty sure when I originally used the disk on my Amiga back in the day it had a menu to choose Gloom and Air Taxi from. Were all coverdisks really of the Tennis Champs Disk 2/Air Taxi type? Did AP ever explain what was up with the coverdisks in a later issue? Somehow I can't seem to remember, and I regularly bought AP all the way up to its demise.

I hope someone knows the answer at least.

Looking at Issue 52 in AMR today reminded me of this problem, so bumpy-bump it goes.
