First you should check if you have a compatible machine for example from the supported computers list or from the official compatibility list.
iBook G4 should be, but iMacs not. Have you downloaded the latest ISO image and checked its md5sum? And burned it correctly to a CD or DVD (some people seem to fail with this especially when using OSX to burn). You should see MorphOS related files and directories on the CD, not the ISO file itself. Have you tried to boot the machine with "c" key pressed while the CD is inserted? It's giving the white screen then? How about if you boot the machine with ALT (option) key pressed, can you see the CD in the graphical boot menu there? If yes, select the CD with mouse or keyboard and boot then. If you don't get into the graphical boot menu, try connecting your keyboard directly into the machine if it's now connected with a hub. You might also want to try to burn the ISO image into DVD, if you happen to have broken optical drive. Sometimes DVD still works while CD doesn't. If all those still fail, you may try to boot from the USB too. Here is a guide how to. |

When booting from the USB, do you get some lines of text which starts with the "Loading ELF" and "Quark/OpenFirmware" and the last line "DO-QUIESCE finished"?

But when you have typed the command line to boot from the USB, can you see those lines on OF prompt before you get the white screen? You should see them at least for 5 seconds or so before the OS boot starts.

As far as i know, you can't boot from an USB drive on an iBook G4. You have to boot from the internal CD/DVD drive. Edit: didn't read the Open Firmware hint some posts above, forget my post.

Have you tried holding CTRL, When i first loaded Morphos on my mac mini the screen resolution wasnt recognised and so all i got was a blank screen. Holding ctrl forces 1024x768 which allowed me to see the screen and set a better resolution. Not sure it would be the same on a laptop but then its worth a go

Check the older versions. Installed on Mac mini G4 last MorphOS 3.9 and also I now often after a reset white screen and black screen. Previously I had in version 3.4. On the Efika I do not have such problems.
