Prized Possession

What is the single most important (to you) retro item you own...?

could be a game, hardware, record... anything as long as its retro!

one item per person (although you can edit of course)

Eek Thats easy My engineers Slide Rule

A heck of a lot easier to use than my old 9 line abacus with sisal string primary & marble jar secondry memorey

It was passed to me by my father, who then had purchased a miraculous publication called "log tables"

I remember having to learn to use those , but I guess your all part of the calculator generation

Thats why I never had time for grammar try calculating the volume of a Ovoid [egg shape to you ] to 4 decimal places without a calculator where would you all begin

NB]I bet you think old woody is joking ? not this time

PPS. If your wondering why anyone would ask a question about the volume of an ovoid , it was part of a physics exam question relating to the differential displacment of six eggs in a pan of water and allowing for evaporation during the 3 minute boiling period, calculating the predicted residual volume that still would be left including workings to show expansion due to heating of both eggs & water.

They don't write them like that anymore either

I have two Telemach joysticks, they are very prized possesions for me. Althought many time since I used last time, but If I need to play to my speccy or my amiga I will have them to use.

One is the "wood" model, its a tank.. perfect to play Goal!, BattleSquadron or Turrican2. Second button works as up-direction.

The other is the plastic-model.. its not as good as the wood-model but its cool anyway. This have the second button setted correctly. perfect for modern games with 2-button option.

A hard one... got to think some more.
But my brother recently laid his hands on the Commodore PET 200-S (Swedish version). A bit off-topic, but worth mentioning anyway.

Ah those!! I was thinking of megadrive!

I got two of those, one is a little scratched but they work well. I just can't get used to the stick being in my right hand. Makes it so I can't use it properly.

Sorry to hijack the thread for a bit! Carry on...

Hmm, I have so much old CBM gear..

I wonder which is really the most prized possession.

I'll say it's the C-116 .. that was quite difficult to find so far.. Haven't been able to get a C-65 for the right price yet, so I can't claim that. :-)

@killer
You can remap the axis functions in ppjoy and use the stick flipped.

My Scrapyard dog A3 poster

My single-most imporant retro item is the Atari Lynx game "Scrapyard Dog" including box and A3 poster. I think it's kinda rare...

Mmmh I dunno. I once had a Vectrex but it got lost. Right now, my most prized possession is basically my A1200 HD...

Hmm, for me it's my original C64 I got when I was 14 - my first computer
From a collectors point of view it is probably my P-500 as it is a very rare piece of hardware !
