This looks really cool, i can really feel the "Chaos Engine" vibe here.

Another one of my most eagerly awaited games and a Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight success is Pixwerks 16-bit shooter ' Tower 57 '. It takes the best out of hit Amiga games such as Chaos Engine while having a rather unique steampunk vibe as you play as a selection of extraordinary individuals sent to infiltrate the reclusive Tower 57. Containing awesome 16-bit inspired pixel art, destructible environments and a ton of blasting action, this game has now received a new gameplay trailer!

This will be absolutely fantastic!! It's nice to see such a high quality product as this being released that doesn't try to get blockier to act more retro, this is as Neil79 said, real Amiga style!!

Eh hang on! why does it say it's coming to the Amiga as well at the end? they don't mean AGA Amiga's do they, they mean the most recent OS4 machines yes?

They mean PPC based OS4 Amigas. So in theory an A1200/4000 with a PPC accelerator but in reality an AmigaOne and newer.

I would imagine they WOULD accept 68k Amigas if an unpaid developer could found and performance was acceptable

Vampire only in such case, I imagine. But a proper bounty could possibly persuade someone to do a decent port? Say 500 Vampire buyers * $10 donation ;-)

The latest vampire is still slower and less compatible than overclocked 060.

020+ 68k AGA should be the target with potential for FPU if needed

CPU speed is one thing (and you can discuss that particular speed comparison with BigGun ;-) , but the Vamp also has 128MB RAM and you could run the game in 640x480 RTG whereas redoing graphics for 2MB chip RAM and AGA would take a serious amount of work..and compromises..

Daniel/Daytona is the guy doing the Tower 57 amiga version, and he is currently only making NG hardware/OS versions.
Ive asked him if he will be developing for the Vampire, and atm hes not planning to do so, as he is superbusy. But he did say he is following the Vampire development with intrest, so he didnt rule out setting up for Classic/Vampire development.
Its quite a few months ago since I raised this question, so I have no idea about his current thoughts towards Vampire.

Maybe we can encourage him to do so, but between Wings, OpenGL ES and Tower 57, I doubt he got enough hours in the day.

Most likely not, this is AmigaOS 4.x and I guess requiring NG hardware.

Tower 57 looks great. Shame that I haven't got working amiga anymore, that would be nerdgasmic experience. Looking forward to playing on PC, tho
