Wanted:Breadbox C64 from within Australia!
Hi! I am looking for a Breadbox C64 that is in good condition and fully works!
I would prefer to buy from someone in Australia to save on postage costs, and to hopefully get one that's exactly the same as my broken original. Also i really only need the actual C64, i don't need any psu or accessories as i already have spares, but if that's not possible then i would still be willing to buy a complete set! Thanks, Han. |

I thought i might bump this old thread!
I am still looking for an original breadbin C64 that is Pal and has the 6581 sid chip in it. I already have power supplies and the various leads needed, i really only need the C64 itself! Willing to buy from the UK if the price and postage isn't to high! Han. |

Hi Hansel,
No shortage of them on Ebay AU. One of them in your "own backyard" currently going for $12: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331285975864 Cheers, Red |

Also the case looks like it has quite a lot of discoloring as well. I will certainly keep watching it though, plus there are a few other breadbins on oz ebay atm as well, some in original boxes. The problem is half of the ones i see on ebay all the time are sold untested and i'm not risking buying one like that. Here is an example of what prices they can go for on oz ebay- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/commodore...item35dac0eeab (not even working and already up to $50 + $25 postage) And here is a few that are going to end up selling for lot's of cash because of the extras and original boxes- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RARE-Vint...item2c8930e9f4 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Commodore...item2ed548daf6 And that's pretty much all the breadbins that are on oz ebay atm! |

Do you have a dead C64? In that case, it might be easier (and cheaper in postage from EU) to just find a replacement MB to fit inside your own C64 if it is in decent cosmetic condition.

Ended up paying AU$81 + $17 postage. It's a little discoloured and dirty but it should clean up ok, and i might look at using my original case with it as well. It was advertised as working so cool, i now have another bread bin C64 |

Well done. Too late for me tho, I am needing to offload some of my stash to raise some capital. I found a box in the shed on the weekend with 2 breadbins in it while cleaning up...

I may still be interested though, depending on if they work and the condition, price etc. Are you able to test them out? Also if you don't mind me asking where abouts in oz are your from! |

I'm in Darwin. I've been collecting commodore since my first C-64 in 1984 (that one's not for sale...) but I need some money to spend on my boat....

I may be interested in another bread bin C64, but i don't want to look greedy as i did just buy one the other day. Also i got some info from the seller of the C64 i just bought, and it would appear that this C64 was used in an Australian company in the 90's called AlphaWorks! They apparently made Commodore 8k and 16k cartridges and this C64 was used as one of there test machines for the cartridge PCBs. It was also used in his earlier company which was called Entertainment Software, and produced Commodore games and utilities from 1987 through to 1999. He also said it's an 83-84 model, and the serial is 1499779. I am pretty sure it's virtually identical to my old original bread bin as it was made in the same year and looks exactly the same as well, and they were both made in the UK! It will be cool to have a working bread bin again, and i look forward to having the good old 6581 sid chip back, i know there less refined and raw sounding compared to the 8580, but that's why i like them I also have a C64c here with S-video cable, and i am going to setup the C64c and bread bin C64 on the same crt tv side by side and alternate between them. That way i can use either one when it suits me, the C64c will have the superior S-video output plus the newer refined 8580(plus sample volume fix), and the old bread bin will run with composite output with my preferred 6581 output! |
