Replaced E123R & E125R, still waiting for the capacitors to arrive.
However, according to some websites, it now conforms to the Apollo timing fix (ie. E123C & E125C removed). It still does not boot with the Apollo 1260 attached ( black screen). I noticed something on a YouTube video when someone turned on their Amiga 1200, it took about 10 seconds to get to the boot screen (no HD attached) from power on, mine takes 37 seconds! Is there something more serious wrong with my motherboard? It seems far too long... Update: also something else, it boots in NTSC (it is a PAL Amiga). Very strange (Measured 1v going to PIN 41 of Alice) Now removed R203 and it's back to PAL. Still takes 37/38 seconds to bring up the 3.1 ROM boot screen Last edited by Amicol; 18 December 2013 at 01:35. |

Replaced E123C & E125C, the hard drive did try and boot a couple of times. Now it doesn't, but you can see the screen flicker every 5 seconds or so as if trying to start

Thanks bud, tried that but it doesn't get that far now, just black screen flicker ever 5 seconds or so. No life in hd, or floppy.
Every now and again it will try, one in 30 tries, but ends in guru meditation. I must be getting closer with timing. Not quite there |

Capacitors are brand new, so shouldn't be that. I changed the roms to 3.0 and it boots in about 10 seconds. Must be something to do with 3.1 Roms
I will follow the other thread and try the ACA1232 fix, see if it works with Apollo too... Starting to regret getting an Apollo Last edited by Amicol; 18 December 2013 at 19:30. |

the behavior of 3.1 is normal - they changed the boot-delay compared to 3.0. you can find many postings talking about that feature.
above i posted a link of steady (!?) ( ian stedman ) - about timing fix related to apollo 1260: Quote:
the Apollo is one of the fastest card for the Amiga (overclocking) - so dont regret it - it is know for its "instability". once you get that sorted - you will enjoy this card. dont give up too soon |

Hi Mate,
started a new threat on the subject of 1D4 timing fixes, in the hope of catching passing traffic. There might be someone else who has already solved this problem. http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=71851 I'll keep this one going when I get round to repairing the 'broken' upgraded 1240. I'm still trying, even got it to boot using the Apollo floppy boot disk. However, it only boots on in 20ish tries, then freezes anyway. Must be getting closer When I'm done I'll sell one of the Apollo's to recoup some money..... |
