but a small bug from the past is back: österreich.country became +sterreich.country again. there is also espa±a located in locale/countries folder.
I just checked and the filenames in the archive are OK, so a V1.41 release won't be necessary at this point. If you have files like +sterreich.country in your SYS:Locale/Countries directory, they have been left over from a very old install of BB3&4 (V1.29 or earlier) and can safely be deleted. Or, it is some bug in whatever unarchiver and/or filesystem you are using.

I haven't investigated the Y2K compliance of lzx/unlzx programs; normally I just use LhA (V2.15) unless the archive really is LZX-compressed. If it is not Y2K compliant, and you care about your file dates being correct, it's better not to use it.

thx, deleted these files already. in comparison correct and incorrect named files, file version and date were identical.
whatever (whenever) happened... until yesterday i always used official unarc tool which came with amigaos 3.9 cd.

would you consider adding snapvol instead of makelink for ramdisk icon? -> post
because makelink introduces a weird bug in cli showing ram:disk.info as directory.

I'd rather fix the real problem, by fixing or replacing the Dir and List commands.

dos.library 42.1 has problems, eg. automount patches do not work with it as expected
Devices do get mounted but after an error message

eg. NewCLI VNC:

will fail to mount VNC: on first run, with rom based dos.library the con: will be mounted
and vinced launched. Same thing for virtual floppy drives or any other device.

@honx:

Dir was last updated in 1991, List was last updated in 2000.

@Michael:

OK, I will remove it from the next release.

"Updated" was the wrong word which I used in honx's "disk info" thread, but these instructions were never "fixed" concerning the soft-link problem since soft-links were introduced in v37 (OS 2.04), not by CMB in OS 3.1, Amiga Inc, Haage&Partner or any others to blame. (OS 3.9 is still using dir v37.5)

I had 42.2 and some other betas tested too, but they had other issues too. There were some notes on them before, and I think they were gradually downgraded in boingbags, and it looks we are going back to stock rom version for now.

Any ideas what was actually done in these updates ?

Very small detail, but there is still reference to it in the ReadMe

mathtrans.library 100.1 This is a replacement library that is much faster than the previous one. It has the same offsets and accuracy as the former and in addition it has a 10^X function, with offset -132.

Experienced a nasty bug with reqtools.library 39.3rev2 : when a file requester is open, the Amiga freeze when closing the window with ESC key (reproduced also in WinUAE).

Reverting to original 39.3 fixed this.

Thanks TuKo, I will downgrade this component for the next BB3&4 release.

I tried to reproduce it on my A1200 3.1 system. Open a shell, enter RequestFile, when file requester is there use ESC key to close the requester. Works fine here (no hits appeared). Is this the way to reproduce the bug or happens it only on 3.9?

if i try to reproduce it on workbench 3.9, also running requestfile from shell, simply nothing happens on ESC.
no freeze, but no closing the requester either. i can only close that requester by clicking on cancel button.

Oh, then it might be another patch that produces it. I'm using MCP its close window via ESC feature to close windows. Thought OS3.9 has it built in.
