A1200 Onboard
Anyone got any experience with the A1200 Onboard busboard expansion?
After 5 years of having an 1200 tower, Blizzard 060, and one of these busboards, I thought I'd get it working all together. The 1200/060 works (well, it did when I got it, and it did when I powered it up for the 2nd time, 3+ years ago...) Just looking for tips in advance whilst I put this heath robinson contraption together... and before any ex-REME types start, yes, I did "get a bigger hammer" |

ah.... do u have any kind of manual for it? I also have this busboard, but in my case it behaves a little strange I think.... perhaps the damn amigatech 1200 m/b is to blame....

I have a poor photocopy of an installation guide, and thats it; it makes reference to a "manual", although it is hard to see what else there is a manual could cover! Other than better (ie clearer) pictures of the boards.
I'm wondering if it does work, seeing as the previous owner physically fitted it, but never hooked it up to the A1200... Will get round to firing it up tomorrow, I hope What cards are you running in it? As much as I would have liked the Picasso II in there, the A2000 is going to have to go, so it can stay in there. So the C64/3D will have to be fitted, together with the SD/FF, and the PIV will go into to the A4K. Typically, the OnBoard doesnt do DMA. Great, as the SCSI card I was going to add uses DMA; the Blizzard's SCSI runs to an external 25pin conector, which means running an external cable back into the Amiga (it has a DB50 connector at the top just for this!) in order to use a SCSI card internally mounted with internal SCSI devices. Lol, "only the Amiga" ;-) |
