Compression of WHDLoad data files
Hi,
I was mulling creating some sort of WHDLoad dynamic compression thing, to cram more files onto my 4Gb CF (because I spend too much money on Amigas this month to buy a bigger one). Then, I noticed that whdload already supports it, through compression of data files with XPK. I can't, however, find any details about how exactly to get this working. I found this this thread mentioning it but it is a bit light on details. Any suggestions, hints and tips would be gratefully appreciated. |

You should get all informations from the thread you mentioned. "Just" pack the data files with xpk and you are done. XPKatana is another tool with GUI that lets you pack files. I don`t know if that is worth the cost. Instead save some money for a larger CF or delete games you never start.
Edit: XPKatana is the correct name. Last edited by daxb; 18 January 2017 at 00:30. |

Have a look at xPackBest on Aminet, it seems to do exactly what you want.
In the readme are two example commands that will pack up disk images and data directories. So it is pretty much all there. I think I recognise the author's name as well. Link: http://aminet.net/package/util/pack/xPackBest |
